Talk to your PCP: There are other frequently prescribed muscle relaxants including Flexeril and skelaxin. Alcohol?: What you are describing happens when you wake up from rem sleep. Melatonin has nothing to do with it, it is not an fda approved medication, and I am not sure why you are taking it. None of the medications you listed is expected to cause vivid dreams. Alcohol, and certain sleeping pills could do that. Sleep Hygiene is Key: Retire & rise same time each day. Keep bedroom dark & cool & use only for sex & sleep. Turn off tv. No naps. Exercise regularly but not in late evening. No caffeine for 6 hrs & no alcohol or tobacco w/i 2 hrs of sleep. Keep dinner moderate sized & finish at least 2 to 3 hrs before sleep.
