Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

Is it normal to get my period for more than 10 days then get it back 2-3 days after? Can it prevent me from getting pregnant? Please help!

Is it normal to get my period for more than 10 days then get it back 2-3 days after? Can it prevent me from getting pregnant? Please help!

Unusual spotting: The 10 days for a period seems too long to begin with, a 2-3 day episode later sounds like spotting. If this second bleeding episode was heavy at all, I'd go see an OB and ask a lot of questions after they do a good history and physical exam

If I eat cornstarch alot can it prevent me from getting pregnant?

If I eat cornstarch alot can it prevent me from getting pregnant?

PICA: Cornstarch is used in food but it is not meant to be eaten alone. Eating items like Cornstarch is a disorder known as PICA. In some cases it can be related to Iron or Zinc deficiency. Consider seeing a doctor to discuss this. PICA should not affect fertility but this form of eating disorder should be addressed by your physician.

Can a cyst prevent me from getting pregnant?

Can a cyst prevent me from getting pregnant?

Not usually: Depends on the type and if you have pcos. If your baseline Estradiol is elevated, it is not normal, and something has to be producing the estrogen. In most cases it is an ovarian cyst, but that would easily be seen by ultrasound. Ovarian tumors can do the same. That certainly needs to be followed up in an unstimulated cycle.

Can pcod prevent me from getting pregnant?

Can pcod prevent me from getting pregnant?

Possible: Pcod results in infrequent ovulation. When you don't ovulate regularly you have fewer chances of conceiving. That means it can take much longer to achieve a conception. There are medications that induce ovulation and greatly increase your fertility, talk to your ob/gyn. Good luck.

If I had a miscarriage would I know and would it prevent me from getting pregnant again?

If I had a miscarriage would I know and would it prevent me from getting pregnant again?

Pregnancy loss +: Sometimes, periods are delayed or late with the subsequent period when in fact a miscarriage may have occurred due to implantation difficulties. That being said, most women would know a miscarriage is occurring due to the bleeding, cramping, pain and tissue passage. The majority of women are able to get pregnant again after miscarriage as genetic issues are usually the proximate cause.

Will having an eating disorder prevent me from getting pregnant or having a healthy baby?

Maybe: Most babies turn out fine in spite of nutritional balance, sometimes there are issues in spite of good nutrition. You are more likely to have problems with nutritional imbalance. Be sure to take prenatal vitamin if you are child-bearing age.

I had a STD & got treated can this prevent me from getting pregnant?

I jave moderate ureaplasma infec, will it prevent me from getting pregnant in the future? Are there chances the infection will come back?

I jave moderate ureaplasma infec, will it prevent me from getting pregnant in the future? Are there chances the infection will come back?

Not necessarily: The infection won't necessarily effect your fertility. If you are not getting pregnant, you will want to have an HSG to make sure your tubes are open. If you and your partner are both treated, the risk of recurrence is small.

Can having sex every day prevent me from getting pregnant? I'm trying to concive. Or is it better to try every other day?

Can having sex every day prevent me from getting pregnant? I'm trying to concive. Or is it better to try every other day?

Complex issue: If rom my knowledge there is no difference between sex every other day versus sec every day which can be interpreted differently. It may not be detrimental if you enjoy it but if it becomes work. Try every other day during days 11-17 of a woman's 28 day cycle for 1 or two cycles and see if that helps. After a year, seek professional help.

Will an ovarian cyst prevent me from getting pregnant? Positive OPK yesterday, pain last night and today. We are actively trying.

Will an ovarian cyst prevent me from getting pregnant? Positive OPK yesterday, pain last night and today. We are actively trying.

Ovarian cyst: An ovarian cyst should not prevent you from becoming pregnant. Cysts are usually non-ruptured follicles that are found on a scan done when a woman of child-bearing age reports pelvic pain, is evaluated and one discovered. They are typically transitory and are usually found to have resolved on follow-up scans. Cysts are also more common in younger women.

I have had an on going yeast infection for 2 years could it be because my boyfriend is not sercumsized. Also can this prevent me from getting pregnant?

I have had an on going yeast infection for 2 years could it be because my boyfriend is not sercumsized. Also can this prevent me from getting pregnant?

Can still get prego: Yeast infections are common but are not related to whether or not your partner is circumcised. Yeast infections don't affect your chances of getting pregnant. A yeast infection should not last 2 years - I recommend seeing an ob/gyn to be sure it's a yeast infection, and to get treatment. Rarely persistent or frequent yeast infections are a sign of a medical problem like diabetes.
