Unsure: There are no direct drug-drug interactions that i know of, however, this drug does affect metabolism and weight and with that can affect menses and absorption of other drugs. No effect of SSRIs: The birth control implant (Implanon/Nexplanon) is extremely safe because it only releases the progestin, Etonogestrel. There is no estrogen and so the risk of clots is MUCH lower than any combined method. Failure rate is 0.05% in a year, which is almost better than getting your tubes tied. Glaucoma: Isn't just increased intra ocular pressure, it is also affection of optic nerve leading to visual field loss, unfortunately it goes unnoticed till visual field is significantly compromised.
