Allergist or ENT: Your nasal symptoms can very well be due to the drugs you are on, lexapro, geodon (ziprasidone) or trazodone, all can cause dry mucus membranes hence dry nose, trazodone can cause nasal congestion too, when seen please mention that you're on those medicines, meanwhile, please keep using saline nasal wash liberally, for an allergist, check aaaai.org or acaai.org for an allergist in your area, good luck, ...Read more

Stay away from Afrin (oxymetazoline): Sorry about using brand names but you really want to stay from afrin, neosynephrine (phenylephrine) & similar products. They're fantastic decongestants but quickly lead to rhinitis medicamentosa which is our fancy way of saying you become addicted to them. Ear Nose Throat Dr.: See an ear nose throat doctor (ENT, otolaryngologist) and that doctor should be able to help you out. In the meantime, try saline nasal spray, one spray four times daily, try to use a personal humidifier to keep the air you breath humid, clean your air ducts and change home air filters monthly. I recommend that patients use saline irrigation as it mechanically cleanses better than spray. You could also use a netti pot, but i like the squeeze bottle.
