My doc said that I have FMF but usually they're doing for me widal test and the result was positive for O, is widal linked w FMF? I have to know!
2 months after fever and weakness typhi dot test is negative while widal test is positive. Oral thrush and body aches, No fever. High RBC high wbc.
Suspect other cause: TyphiDOT IgG or IgM is reported to be 100 percent accurate for identifying an acute infection. If the IgM test alone was done, it could be that the test needs to be repeated. If you clinically appear to have typhoid fever your doctor will want to retest or treat. See your doctor, you may have another type of infection ...Read more

What to do if I'm 58 years old man, before 25 days I was found with widal positive but after 25 days widal test is negative?
Widal is an outdated test for typhoid fever. Unless you traveled to a poor country with poor sanitation, you are unlikely to have typhoid fever. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.
Practice safe sex. ...Read more

I have been having mild body weekness which occur occasionally, done widal test recently which was positive. It started about 3 years.
Widal test: This antibody test is next to worthless, and perhaps more so because it causes people to look for infections that may not be present despite the test positivity. You need to be seen by a family practitioner or general internist and undergo a full evaluation without antibiotics. Good luck. ...Read more
My widal test show 1/80 salmonella type o and h positive and remaining negative. Should I worry about it???
See a doctor: This condition may be what is called FUO (fever of undetermined origin). It is the bread and butter of infectious diseases practice, and requires detailed history, physical exam and numerous tests to determine the cause. The widal test results must only be interpreted in the context of the remainder of the assessment. Please go see somebody soon. ...Read more
My widal test report is s.to 1:320 s.th 1:160 ah1:80 bh1:40 I am taking medicine: antibiotic mycin 500. What will this do?
All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. The information you provided does not seem to add up and hence it is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.
Practice safe sex, if you have sex. ...Read more
What do you suggest if my widal test report is s.to 1:320 s.th 1:160 ah1:80 bh1:40 am taking medicine antibiotic mycin 500.?
Widal test: This is a very outmoded and inaccurate test and should not be done. If you are really concerned about typhoid fever you should see a doctor familiar with it. Your blood pressure 140/80 mmHg is probably quite normal. Do not know what Mp++ is. Ask the doctor who ordered this or get another opinion. ...Read more

I had S.Typhi O antigen as 1:160 and S.Typhi H antigen as 1:160 in my widal test. What does this mean? I feel normal. No fever or pain.
Why the tests?: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, if you do not have any symptoms why were the tests done? The antibodies may be from a prior infection that may have been mild. ...Read more
A single Widal Test is is of no use in diagnosis of Typhoid Fever as there can be cross reacting infections like Malaria so there has to be fourfold increase in the titer like1in40to1in160 in the course of infection or conversion from igM raction to igG reaction at least same titer as igM

My CBC report shows that mchc 37g/dl, eosinophiles 8%, and widal test to, positive (1/160) th (1/80) and pt (a)pt (b) negative and triglycerides 238 mg/dl?
Too many variables: The MCHC is basically normal. You have eosinophilia with a high count and the reason for this cannot be deduced from these values. The widal test is basically worthless. Your triglycerides are high but this again can be due to numerous causes. See your doctor and ask these questions to the person who ordered the tests. Labs have little meaning without knowing the full clinical picture. ...Read more
My widal test rept-to + upto 1:80, th + upto 1:160, ah upto 1:80, bh + upto 1:40, my doc says it is typhoid and prescribed cefixime and azithromycin, isok?
Widal: This test measures antibodies that may take up to 2 weeks or more to form in active disease, making its use in acute infection limited. In addition the cross reactivity of the test makes its use questionable absent a full assessment of the clinical situation and appropriate culture of blood and urine. Since typhoid is uncommon in the us need to know where else you have been (punjab?). ...Read more
