What would cause a loss of range of motion in a hip? I am unable to abduct left hip. Upper leg muscles feel weak, leg feels "stuck" when i abduct.
Any groin pain?: Any pain or limping with weight bearing/walking? Morning stiffness? If so consider hip joint problem. Consider labrum too. If groin muscles are sore perhaps a muscle strain. Bursitis of the lateral hip or gluteus medius/minimus muscle problem perhaps but you would have soreness of the lateral hip. Nerve issue can also cause weakness - look for numbness or tingling in other parts of the leg. ...Read more

I sat for close to an hour in a deep, leather chair. When I got up, my thighs were quite "rubbery" feeling, and weak. MS or lumbar stenosis?
Not MS: Your thought about lumbar stenosis may be correct, and typically this will depend on the flexion angle of your body. Unless you already have MS and you got overheated while seated, your experience otherwise has nothing to do with MS. ...Read more
My glutes and legs are trained from playing basketball. I however seem to have an anterior pelvic tilt. Would my psoas need to be stretched?
Psoas Stretch: The iliopsoas muscle starts up in the low back and pelvis and attaches into the femur. The tighter it becomes, the more anterior pelvic tilt occurs. Finding out how to check if it is tight and then do appropriate stretches 3 times per day is important. I attached a good video for you. Dr rich blake http://youtu.Be/bht4192tklc. ...Read more
I have ms, spinal lesions, legs immobile. Now losing ability to sit up without great spastic pain and weakness. Why can't i sit up in a chair ?
Complex: The above describes a high burden of disease, and the loss of strength with increasing weakness and spasticity may represent a spinal cord relapse. 22/m/190lbs have twitching in neck when I do a posture Also in my face , weak left hand and left leg can it be ALS it does not run in family , ?
Very concerning: You are very young to have something like ALS. It would still be wise for you to see a Neurologist to evaluate the twitching. This might involve an MRI, EMG and possibly even EEG testing. The weakness should be thoroughly worked up including detailed history to understand what posture you are doing that may exacerbate this or if there is another cause compressing your spinal cord. Keep me posted ...Read more
Several causes: Restless leg syndrome is prob a nerve condition rather than muscle. Frequently, we find blood ferritin level to be low (a relative of iron). Sometimes, taking ferritin can help with the symptoms. If not, there are a few medications that can help, including Mirapex and Requip (generics available). There is also a patch called Neupro (rotigotine) (not generic). Rls is more common in people with neuropathy. ...Read more
My ribs, oblique muscles, chest, and legs are sore as if I've done a full body workout when I haven't. Can this be due to carry a very heavy backpack?
Muscle pains: If you experienced these pains after carrying a heavy backpack then it is reasonable to assume the pains may be a result of this. Try Tylenol to relieve the pain. Are there muscles surrounding the hip joint? I have a bad hip & feel the need to stretch muscles (it feels like.) I'm unable to do so b/c of injury.
Be careful of hip jt: What people call the hip frequently is not. If you are talking at the side of your pelvis this is not the true hip. This may be the area of the greater trochanter. You should see your ortho doc and then may well get some physiotherapy that you can use as needed to ease the discomfort. The doc should tell you exactly what is wrong ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
