Why would my testicle still hurt after being hit hard a year ago?

Chronic pain: Testicular injuries vary from mild bruising to complete rupture where the lining that holds the testicular tissue breaks. This can set up a severe inflammatory reaction that can lead to bleeding, fluid build up and, in extreme cases, loss of the testicle. A scrotal ultrasound can help see if any of these possibilities apply. Some men develop chronic pain from testicular injuries. ...Read more

Hello. : Hello. I think you already did all the work here. Anything that puts pressure on, or cuts off the circulation to your genitalia can cause pain within the scrotum. You already mentioned several things you do that make it worse: wearing tight pants and briefs and sitting too much. Sitting with your legs crossed and bicycle seats can also be problematic. Think of all the pressure this puts on your testicles, prostate and perineum. Ouch ! ok, so what can you do to get rid of your testicular discomfort? 1. Trade in those briefs for boxer shorts . 2. No more skin tight jeans. 3. Stop crossing your legs. 4. Get up off your butt regularly and move around. 5. Gentle massage of the area and sitting in a warm tub of water can be soothing. If you get severe pain, especially if is not remitting, then you definately need medical attention. Stay well. ...Read more

Hello. : Hello. I don't know the cause of your pain. Pain can radiate to the testes from abdominal sources like renal calculi and hernias. Abdominal pain can sometimes perceed testicular pain in testicular torsion. Here are possible sources of pain: epididymitis; hydrocele; inguinal hernia; kidney stones; testicular injury; testicular torsion; varicocele or a uurinary tract infection. It isn't possible to tell if this from an abdominal or testicular source. Due to the severity of the pain, i recommend you go to the emergency room to be evaluated. ...Read more

Wait: If neither the scrotum nor the testis itself are enlarged, there's not much to do except wait for healing. Be careful- a re-injury in the next few months might be more likely to cause bleeding internally. ...Read more

Pain inside scrotum persists even after hernia repair and after orchiectomy, in a 61 year-old.....?

Pain inside scrotum persists even after hernia repair and after orchiectomy, in a 61 year-old.....?

Questionable treatment, unless indirect inguinal hernia shown first.: Testicular &/or scrotal pain can notoriously be difficult to manage and often does not respond to epididymectomy. Certainly removal of testicle should not have been performed unless testicle was very tender. Various regimes utilized by pain clinics should have been tried first & certainly should be tried now including possible acupuncture. There is also possibility of referred pain. Surgery often does not help with this kind of pain unless it is due to intermittent trusts torsion in which case fixation of testis, to prevent twisting of spermatic cord, takes care of problem. Wish I could be of more help. ...Read more
