Why Would A Physically Fit Persons Heart Rate Return To Normal Faster Than An Unfit Persons
My heart rate often slows to low 50s before sleep when very tired and have exercised a fair amount that day. Am not physically fit. Is this normal?
If you are young and in good shape, a pulse in
the fiftys especially at rest would not be alarming
the question would be if you have any other
symptoms related to your heart
do you have any palpitations, shortness of breath or unusual fatigue with exercise?
Then you should be evaluated by a cardiologist. ...Read more

Feeling a strong beat out of my chest (to the right of my heart) every few beats. Had tests — heart is normal, but heart rate is fast.
Heart rate: if you had tests the "strong" beat should have been identified. I am not sure what you mean by a strong beat. Is your heart rate regular or is the strong beat an early or skipped beat? The fast heart rate, if always present, is another issue. All these questions can be answered fully by a cardiologist if you have not seen one. Though you have had "tests", you're testing may have been incomplete. ...Read more

I have pots. Todaywhen I got up heart rate was fast and didn't slow down all the way when I laid down. Then had to go potty. Normal 20min later. Worry?
POTS: The Tachycardia on standing is obviously expected given your diagnosis. I don't know how long it normally takes for your hear rate to normalize after standing but if this was longer than usual, it may be due to anxiety as well. Bowel movement stimulates the vagal response which normally lowers heart rate. If the prolonged tachycardia upon standing continues or worsens, see your cardiologist. ...Read more
