Could taking one Suboxone pill ruin your opiate receptors at all?

Could taking one Suboxone pill ruin your opiate receptors at all?

Opiopid receptor: Suboxone, just like other opiates, can cause a change in opiate receptor physiology. How long will it take to wean off Suboxone if I have been taking 1/8-1/4 of an 8mg pill a day? 30 years old been on Suboxone about a year.

When you are ready: Sounds like you've done the right thing by tapering it down which makes it easier to get off. Can even do 2 mg strips and take 1/2 (1 mg) and then 1/4 (0.5 mg) then stop. Timing depends on your comfort level, but should have a plan, be physically and mentally ready and work with a doctor who can support you while your getting off. Good luck, . ...Read more

Treating co-occurring anxiety/depressive disorder, meds (eg clonidine, wellbutrin, (bupropion) anticonvulsant, antagonist therapy, etc), cbt, na-12 step, exercise, new hobbies can help. ...Read more

Can a pain pill be taken while still on suboxone? I am on Suboxone but I am in a lot of pain. Will it hurt me to take a pain pill while I am still taking the suboxone.

Can a pain pill be taken while still on suboxone? I am on Suboxone but I am in a lot of pain. Will it hurt me to take a pain pill while I am still taking the suboxone.

Sorry : Sorry to hear about your pain, the role of suboxone is to actually replace your opioid needs in addition to preventing other pain medications from working. The chemical structure of suboxone is such that it will not allow pain medications to reach the desired effect. While it will not hurt to take a pain medication, taking it will not likely to do anything for your level of pain - this is precisely what this medication is all about. Please address your concerns with your pain doctor and be honest with him/her before you do anything. Good luck! ...Read more
