Normal.: Joint popping is normal. Not a sign of pathology. If it is not associated with pain, then don't worry about it.

Walking (Definition)

Your doctor may also suggest a safe exercise plan. Walking is usually the easiest type of exercise, but swimming or other low-impact exercises can work just as well. Exercise is an important way to keep blood sugar in control, and physical activity in pregnancy has been found to decrease the risk ...Read more

Why does my back pop when I walk?

Why does my back pop when I walk?

Only theories: Why joints sound like Rice Krispies Cereal (snap, crackle, and pop!) with no pain & normal functioning is a topic of debate. If your back does not hurt and you have no other symptoms like numbness, tingling, weakness, loss of bowel or bladder control, then don't worry. Try stretching before hand and "get the kinks out." first. My kiddo can twist and all her vertebra would pop sequentially! Ew!

Absolutely: You may need nsaid's, muscle relaxers and possibly some pain medication for "breakthrough" pain. If you have weakness, go to the ed immediately, if not, then get in to see your doctor as soon as possible.

Sounds like: You may have a HAMSTRING tear.... (Its a big tendon and partial tears are quite common!!) Continue RICE and ask your PCP for a referral to a Board Certified Orthopedist. Recently Platelet Rich Plasma has been used in the treatment of such tears. First a Diagnosis!! Hope this helps! Dr Z

Exam would help: Hard to diagnose knee problems in this forum. Based on the "popping" there is a good chance this is mechanical (torn meniscus for example). In the absence of injury, then problems like infection, autoimmune disease, tumor would be considered. If this is recurring; let your doctor know. You may be cleared with a simple physical exam and/or xray, or you may benefit from seeing the specialist.

See OrthopedicMDasap: I think you need to make an appointment with an Orthooedic Specialist as soon as possible as your knee is unstable. Keep the brace on and use crutches till you see the specialist of go to nearest ER as you may have severe ligament injury. Make sure you have feeling of touch and pain in the leg below the knee and normal circulation. Do not take any chances as you should have consulted ortho earlier

After going for a walk I feel little popping sensations n my thighs there is no pain & goes away after a few minutes why does this happen?

After going for a walk I feel little popping sensations n my thighs there is no pain & goes away after a few minutes why does this happen?

There are: Some mysteries which may remain unresoved; it may be muscle spasms or you may have a poor filtration for physical sensations. Popping that doesn't hurt, I wouldn't worry about. If it hurts or you can't walk, go see ur doc. Otherwise I would try not to think about it, honestly. Sorry couldn't b more helpful.

Should I be worried if my Achilles tendon is making a popping noise whenever I walk? How can I fix it?

Should I be worried if my Achilles tendon is making a popping noise whenever I walk? How can I fix it?

See below: Most likely it's not the achilles but the ankle joint and it is perfectly normal as long as the popping is not associated with a sharp pain. If the tendon feels weak or has been injured a boot or brace may be warranted.

Why is my knee swollen and popping when I walk?

Why is my knee swollen and popping when I walk?

Something new?: Swelling from knee can be from trauma/injury, infection (i.E lyme disease), gout, and rheumatologic diseases etc. Sometime effusion/swelling occurs without known cause. When it is swollen, the knee is less stable and popping and "giving-out" can occur. Take it easy, becareful walking on uneven ground/steps. Motrin/aleve may help. Consult doc to find the cause/treatment. Good luck.

What do I do if I have this popping in my hip when I walk/run?

See chiro: I would start with a good chiropractor - in York I recommend Dr. Kevin Owens! He may be able to stretch the hip flexors and alleviate the popping.

Hip popping: It sounds like your it band could be tight and slipping over the hip area. It can make a click/pop/grinding sound when you walk. It band tightness is very common in runners.

No Pain=OK: In general a noisy, painless joint is nothing to worry about. The structures within the joint - ligaments&tendons can move when you move and make noise. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!
