Not sure: Check with your child's doctor. Sucking blisters on the upper lip are not uncommon, but it is unusual that it would persist. Is he using a pacifier or thumb sucking still? That might cause it to continue.

Change cup: It is OK if callus is stable, I would change him to tip-over sip cup to avoid needing suction to get liquid out the bottle, this straw cup may be not much different than a bottle mechanistically, can be bad for his teeth as well

Hi Dr. My 8 week old makes a clicking sound when bottle feeding, seems to lose suction and I think I can hear lots of air bubbles going down?

Sucking problem: You need to check the size of the hole in the nipple & see how fast it is dripping down the formula. Try a nipple with smaller hole & see if it makes a difference, if she is also breast fed does she make the same sound? If yes then you need to take her to her pediatrician or even ENT to make sure that her nose, throat & larynx are ok. Good luck & enjoy your bundle of joy.

Babies that are on a bottle feeding aren't stronger? Aren't healthier? I'm bottle feeding should I be worry or feel guilty?

Babies that are on a bottle feeding aren't stronger? Aren't healthier? I'm bottle feeding should I be worry or feel guilty?

Relative issue: Breast fed infants, even if breast fed for a few weeks, seem to have better life outcomes than those started on the bottle initially. There are also living immune factors that breast milk has that reduce some of babies illnesses. That said, there has been tremendous improvements in formulas in the past 3 decades and babies thrive. I think mom's have to do whatever it takes and not accept guilt for it.

What is the difference between bottle feeding breast milk and nursing an infant?

What is the difference between bottle feeding breast milk and nursing an infant?

Both give the same: Nutritional value, which is extremely important. Nursing allows a different, closer bonding of mother and baby. However, if nursing is not possible, it is certainly worthwhile and beneficial to the baby to give the expressed breast milk by a bottle.

How can bottle feeding be harmful for baby?

How can bottle feeding be harmful for baby?

Bottle feeding: Breastfeeding is best for your baby but if you cannot breastfeed, bottle feeding with an infant formula is acceptable. It can be harmful if the bottle is propped up to feed (choking/aspiration), if the milk is old or if the baby is falling asleep with the bottle in their mouth (cavaties). There are other reasons the bottle may or may not be safe but these are the main ones.

What are the pros and cons of breastfeeding and bottle feeding a baby?

What are the pros and cons of breastfeeding and bottle feeding a baby?

Various opinions: Some believe nipple confusion is the main problem switching back and forth in feeding method. Babies have to put a little more work into getting the milk to drop down from the breast vs suckling a bottle. I have lots of parents who use both methods and rarely have I seen true nipple confusion. Http://www. Webmd. Com/parenting/baby/your-babys-feeding-breast-vs-bottle

My child is 4and half month old his blood suger level is 141 after bottle feeding sweet milk. What it may be su?

My child is 4and half month old his blood suger level is 141 after bottle feeding sweet milk. What it may be su?

Likely sampling issu: A random blood glucose will always be affected by sampling technique, which can be hard in infants. Any foreign material on the skin surface may skew the results & falsely elevate them. If taken soon after a feed I could see it going up to the 130's. If concerned see your dr & have a venous sample tested.

Should I be concerned if my child is 4and half month old his blood suger level is 141 after bottle feeding sweet milk?

Should I be concerned if my child is 4and half month old his blood suger level is 141 after bottle feeding sweet milk?

Why was the test: Done? All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. In adults, a post-prandial glucose level of 141 is normal.

When can we introduce our 3 month old baby to the bottle feeding? We fear that bottle feeding might bring the chances for infection. Plz suggest

When can we introduce our 3 month old baby to the bottle feeding? We fear that bottle feeding might bring the chances for infection. Plz suggest

Now: You can introduce a bottle as soon as breast feeding is well established- I usually recommend at about one month of age. Its helpful if someone other than mom feeds the baby the bottle and if mom leaves the house so the baby won't cry to nurse instead! To decrease chance of infection make sure you clean and sterilize (in boiling water) the bottle equipment. Clean after each use.

When is a good time to wean my baby off of nursing or bottle-feeding?

Depends on the child: Some kids need more nurturing than others and will seek out the cuddle time at the breast well into the 2nd yr. If your infant needs cuddle time, do as long as desired. When kids start to walk, they may loose interest in cuddle time. When you have to chase them down to bf its time to quit. Bottles are easy, when baby will take well from a hard spout sippy cup start the wean.

Two-month old baby refuses expressed milk in bottle, how to encourage her bottle feeding?

Two-month old baby refuses expressed milk in bottle, how to encourage her bottle feeding?

Get out of the room: When you try alternative feeding it is best to let someone else do the offering. If baby is use to BF they will hold out as long as they can smell you. If hungry and you are not there to confuse her, she may begin the transition easier.

I'm having a hard time bottle feeding my breastfed baby. What should I do to make her drink from the bottle?

I'm having a hard time bottle feeding my breastfed baby. What should I do to make her drink from the bottle?

Have someone else: Offer the bottle. If she can smell you, she doesn't want the back up plan. Have your spouse or a friend offer the bottle when she is hungry & leave the area. After she figures out the idea you may get her to cooperate with you later.

I want to stop breastfeeding my baby and start bottle feeding but she is refusing to take bottle feeds, what should I do?

I want to stop breastfeeding my baby and start bottle feeding but she is refusing to take bottle feeds, what should I do?

Different feeder: Baby will often refuse a bottle if she can smell you. If you enlist dad or another helper to start the process baby may accept the feed if hungry enough. After a few feeds by the other helper, baby may be willing to make the change.

Maybe abnormal: This may be normal or it could be a sign your baby is working too hard to eat. See your pediatrician to review your baby's growth and overall health. If there is something else making your baby fatigued while eating, your doctor can detect what the trouble is.
