Why Is There Blood When I Blow My Nose
ENT check: The nasal mucosa is a very vascular structure and blowing too hard may rupture a small blood vessel. Such bleeding can usually be treated by taking a piece of cotton baton, put it in ice and insert into the nostril and squeeze for about 3 minutes. However, you really need a specialist to look at your nasal lining and septum and make absolutely sure you have nothing more serious. ...Read more
Why would I have blood when I blow my nose? Or when I cough up mucus there is sometimes blood as well? I do not have a fever.
Bloody nose: Nasal tissue is thin and rich in blood vessels. It is highly sensitive to humidity and a lack of it dries out, often with forced air heating in cold weather. There will be nasal blood with blowing, spotty not copious. Some blood may be aspirated from the nose into secretions which run back into the nasopharynx and then coughed up. IF, however, blood is consistently coughed, further exam is best. ...Read more

I am having upper back pain that comes and go, and blood when I blow my nose. I do not have a cough. I am 25 and I don't smokecould I have lung cancer?
Almost certainly not: I don't think you have lung cancer at all. Back pain can be due to many things (including posture, very large breasts, etc) and blood when you blow your nose is probably due to a polyp. Obviously you should have it checked out if it's a lot. But at your age and with no smoking history, lung cancer would be very low on my list. As for bruising and weakness, you should probably have a blood test. ...Read more
I suffered a head injury at work about 36 hours ago. I felt a little woozy all day yesterday I never blacked out, did not have any headaches, vomiting, memory loss or pupil change, but have noticed some blood when I blow my nose. Is there anything I sho
Do: Do not know about the actual type of injury. We already know that you have not had headaches, vomiting, loss of consciousness, amnesia or pupillary changes. Additional symptoms can include: nausea, ringing in your ears, feeling dizzy, slurred speech, confusion or feeling tired. Major concern is that you have felt woozy. The symptoms from a head injury can be subtle. I am not sure what to make of the blood in your nose - don't know the mechanism of injury. If you continue to be woozy, I would recommend a check up. Because not all the effects from a concussion may be immediate, self- monitor to ensure that you don't develop more symptoms. If there is a small amount of blood in your nostril and it is not on- going, it will likely resolve. Be gentle with yourself. Be self aware for signs or symptoms of a concussion. ...Read more
