Why is there blood when i blow my nose? Explanations please?

Why is there blood when i blow my nose? Explanations please?

ENT check: The nasal mucosa is a very vascular structure and blowing too hard may rupture a small blood vessel. Such bleeding can usually be treated by taking a piece of cotton baton, put it in ice and insert into the nostril and squeeze for about 3 minutes. However, you really need a specialist to look at your nasal lining and septum and make absolutely sure you have nothing more serious. ...Read more

What could be the cause of spitting brown phlegm in the morning? After a couple spits it's clear and doesn't do it again till morning. No blood when I blow my nose

Need diagnosis: Brown phlegm is probably not from the oral cavity or from the gums. Obviously, you need a proper diagnosis. Although you say there is no nasal bleeding, i would worry more about old blood coming from the esophagus or stomach. An ENT doctor or a gastroenterologist should be consulted. ...Read more

I am having upper back pain that comes and go, and blood when i blow my nose. I do not have a cough. I am 25 and i don't smokecould I have lung cancer?

Almost certainly not: I don't think you have lung cancer at all. Back pain can be due to many things (including posture, very large breasts, etc) and blood when you blow your nose is probably due to a polyp. Obviously you should have it checked out if it's a lot. But at your age and with no smoking history, lung cancer would be very low on my list. As for bruising and weakness, you should probably have a blood test. ...Read more
