GERD: Acid reflux, or GERD, is a very common cause of symptoms similar to those you're describing. If your symptoms have been persistent, you probably need to see a doctor for treatment. In the meantime, try an antacid such as Tums (calcium carbonate) or Mylanta, to see if it gives you temporary relief. Guessing?: If it is on the right side and even in the middle, you could be experiencing gallbladder disease/stones. There could be gastritis or an ulcer. It could be a presentation of multiple other GI and non-gi issues. Sounds as though you need to be see and examined and perhaps have some testing done.
