Need to see a doctor: This could be either neck problem or possible carpal tunnel syndrome. You need to see a doctor to get a completely neurological examination. Did you ever had neck injury during sports or motor vehicle accident in the past? If you did, it is possible the numbness related to the neck injury. If you did not it is possible carpal tunnel. It should resolve: Hello Lauren. Assuming you didn't actually cut the finger with an Xacto knife? The numbness is likely from compression of the digital nerves that exist at your fingertip. This likely started from the constant pressure on that fingertip making them "fall asleep". The nerve should wake up on its own. It may even 7-10days.
