98.6 degrees Fahrenheit is normal for adults. Give or take a few degrees.
If it goes about 101 - now a fever and need to treat it with acetaminophen, rest, and doctor visit. Infection is occurring and needs to be found. It can quickly spread to sepsis so get medical care soon if this applies to you. ...Read more
Temp of over 104: That is a really high fever and you should talk to your doctor right away and be seen. You can take some Acetaminophen for the fever. Fever per se is not bad but a high fever can lower the seizure threshold in a young patient and cause febrile seizures. Fever is a defense mechanism by the body to help fight off infections and so if it is not bothering you otherwise, you do not need to treat it. ...Read more
66-68 degrees F: The last thing you want to do is overheat a baby. Even newborns will cry if they are cool/chilled, but they will not cry if they are overheated. There is some evidence that overheating may have some association to some sids cases.
