Sloughing: When the 'skin' in our mouth 'comes off' it is usually a result of a chemical irritation of the buccal mucosa. Some antiseptic mouth rinses can cause this (especially ones with a high % of alcohol) or a strange new spice or exotic food stuff may be the cause.
