Monitoring Centers: The lymphatic system absorbs and carries things too big to go into the arteries and veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. A lymph node "tastes" the lymph to see if anything bad is there like bacteria, viruses, cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and enlarges in response to the inflammation they create when they react. You can feel them then. ...Read more
Sometimes I get a inflamed feeling in the sides of my abdomen after eating that persists for hours. Anything I can take?
Gallbladder?: If this pain is caused after eating fatty foods, and you still have your gallbladder, that could be the culprit. You could first eliminate fried and fatty foods from your diet (no butter, oils, dressing). And if the discomfort subsides, you can ask your doc for an abd ultrasound. That is the first step towards a diagnosis. If you are not having soft, regular bm's, constipation could contribute. ...Read more

My abdomen hurts on the left side, it is very sensitive to the touch =[ like when I just barely rub it there isn't really any b/g info that will help besides past possible pelivic inflammatory disease
Abdominal pain is very serious, and should be treated as such. Therfore I will start by stating that you need a work/evaluation by your primary care provider. You could be dealing with a wide range of problems including muscle pain, ulcers, female issues, spleen enlargement etc. The list could go on and on, but without more history, a physical, and diagnostic testing it is very difficult to even guess.
Best of luck. ...Read more

Is oatmeal good for gastritis or should I avoid any grains to heal my stomach faster? I hear that grains and oatmeal might make my stomach inflamed.
Misinformed...: Unless you have a contraindication to eating grains and oats, there is no reason to restrict these foods from your diet specifically to "heal stomach faster." What IS appropriate/recommended, if medically possible in your case, is avoidance of NSAID's (aspirin, Advil, (ibuprofen) Aleve), tobacco, and a significant reduction in alcohol. Be well-- ...Read more

You said it...: A picture is worth... well you know. But you describe inflamed skin which would be simply just that and may simply subside by itself, or this may be a "clogged" infected hair follicle (folliculitis), skin infection (cellulitis), pus pocket of infection (abscess), an allergic reaction to an insect bite... The would be the most common. Thank you for the question. ...Read more

Ask your doctor for re-evaluation & re-treatment as appropriate. ...Read more

Just told that I have gastritis gastritis but the stomach is not acutely inflamed. Some stomach intestinal metaplasia observed. Has lasted 5 months??
Gastritis: A five month history qualifies for "chronic" gastritis, meaning that the inflammation has gone on at a smoldering low level and is not associated with an acute histology can pattern. It is a technical point, but one which is important. The metaplasia is the stomach's way of trying to react to the infection, but it needs to be monitored closely to avoid further complications. ...Read more
