It could be tennis or golfer's elbow with pain over the sides of the elbow causing the pain of bending it especially with certain movements of the wrist. It could be the onset of arthritis. Don't worry too much: My guess is that you may have slept on it oddly if you woke up like that and it may take a day or two for the muscles in your upper arm to calm down again.If it's really bothering you you can try some ibuprofen for pain relief and for any inflammation that may be going on and try heat on it as well to see if that helps.If still hurting in a few days, see your doc to see if they have other ideas. ...Read more

It could be: A cervical radiculopathy resulting from any type of condition that irritates a nerve in the cervical spine. The pain travels down the arm in the area of the involved nerve. Depends: Aching in the right arm is unfortunately a very vague complaint. Could be muscle, joint, or nerve related - would need more info to better diagnose. However, if the symptoms have not been there for long, and are not severe, and you have normal use of the arm, then in general it would be ok to fly. It sounds like you: are lying on that arm at some part of the night and temporarily compressing a nerve. Try changing your sleeping position/using pillows to prop yourself so that you are not laying on that arm. This can happen also if you sleep on your belly with your arm up over your head.
