Needs soft stools: Constipation is a frustrating problem in children who have had a painful bm in the past. Try "p" fruits peaches, pears and prunes, increase fluids and continue your fiber. May need mineral oil one tablespoon twice a day to bring soft stools. Short or long term?: If this is just a one time thing for a few days, usually just some extra fluids and/or juice. You could do a one-time infant glycerin suppository as well (you know where that goes!). If it is a long term problem, then some diet changes with less milk products and more fiber needed. It happens: Its happened before and is unlikely to cause any problem if you removed what you could of the suppository. The blood was likely triggered when you overstretched/tore the hymen. You are correct: Older siblings can bring home germs which will affect your one year old and the older kids may have antibody to the virus and not be sick.
