Is the penis pulled to reattach the urethra to the bladder during prostectomy? I have painful penis in a.M. And all day soreness.Tylenol&percs no work

After Prostatectomy: During surgery to remove the prostate, the bladder neck and urethra above the sphincter are sewn together. Reduction in penile length post-op comes partly from contraction in this area. Nerve sparing or resection results in decreased blood flow to the penis. The former eventually resolves, the latter rarely so. If you are recently post-op (< 3 mos) then nsaids like aleve (naproxen) should help. Ask your md. ...Read more

Internal pain: Localization of pain inside our bodies is difficult because nerves follow a map from early in evolution. So the ureter that connects the kidney to the bladder is not where it used to be. When stretched at the top we feel it high in the back where it attaches to the kidney. As something moves down we feel it wrap around to the front and down to our groin. Urethral pain is from the procedure itself ...Read more

Should be able to it: That small a stone should be passable but it will still hurt terribly. There are other meds like Flomax (tamsulosin) which will help in passing the stone along with big time hydration. You need to catch the stone in a filter and see a urologist to figure out what type of stones you are forming and what to do to prevent another episode. ...Read more

Same class: The drugs are on the same class. Don't try to game the system. If you truly need chronic narcotic pain medication, see a pain specialist, usually an anesthesiologist specializing in the treatment of chronic pain. Best solution is to get to the root cause and fix it. If not possible, there are many alternatives to narcotics, which in the long term can make chronic pain worse in some patients. Hope this helps! ...Read more

3 months ago had kidney stone lefy side removed now I have soreness not painful on both sides of upper ribs would cat scan not have seen some else too?

Yes, but...: Pain somewhere is a body signaling something not right, which is caused by some sort of undefined chemical or mechanical irritation to the local nerve-endings of fibers. Kidney-stone-related pain is one, but not all. Can a tonsil stone cause slight sore throat or that side, painful ear, slight loss of taste and globus hysteria?

Can a tonsil stone cause slight sore throat or that side, painful ear, slight loss of taste and globus hysteria?

Not all of them: A tonsil stone is not a stone but a collection of food particles in the crypts of the tonsillar surface. It usually does not cause pain. A slight sore throat with referred pain to the ear is possible, also. But loss of taste and globus would not be associated with the collection of debris in the tonsil. ...Read more
