Why Is My Left Lower Thigh Muscle Twitching For No Reason
Fasiculation: This is most likely something called a fasiculation. It is an isolated muscle twitch in one area that lasts temporarily. A good example is an eye twitch. If the symptoms continue, worsen, or move to include other muscles you should see your doctor. It could be a sign of an underlying neurologic disorder. ...Read more
It is a body tissue that has the ability to contract. It shortens and generates force. It relaxes and returns to its original length. Muscles move joints, stabilize the body, move air and food through the organs, act as valves for bladder, bowel and other organs. They control movement of the eyes. They help us express ourselves by changing the shape of our ...Read more
For the last few weeks i've had muscle twitching in my left thigh under my butt and stomach under my right rib cage. Im not sure why, any suggestions?
See your doctor: In the absence of other symptoms, these are likely benign "fasciculations". Causes include dehydration, recent overexertion, abnormal electrolyte levels such as sodium, potassium, or calcium levels, increased stress levels/caffeine intake, etc. If the twitching is frequent, affects different muscles every time, or is associated with other symptoms like muscle cramps or weakness, see your doctor. ...Read more
Can you tell me if any of this was the reason, beyond being a "slow-twitch" muscle guy. Maybe my feet or my leg is off and doesn't hit the ground right?
I left strenght training 3 months ago. Now there are muscle twitching in my whole body, no weakness , no atrophy. But nowthere are pins & needle (leg)?
One possibility..: Although rare, there is a neurologic condition, benign fasciculation syndrome characterized by twitches, cramping, tingling without weakness (that is a quick summary). See a neurologist or a physiatrist for evaluation to be sure. Whether it is this or something else, physical exam can reveal a lot. It could be a simple electrolyte imbalance. If neurologic, the nerves can be tested easily. ...Read more

So my skin has been really dry, especially the thigh area. I've been skin crawling and biting sensations and frequent muscle twitching. What is this?
Eczema : Eczema, (think extra sensitive dry over reactive skin) gets much worse in the winter, especially areas that rub. The itch associated with this can seem to be an unnatural pain. This is because the nerves in the skin are in a sense wired differently. This may not be your problem and doesn't explain muscle twitching so have it checked out by your doctor. Use lots of moisturizers, avoid scratching. ...Read more
Correlation muscle twitching throughout body developed 6 years ago, followed by low extrem tightness months later to unilateral low leg swelling 2013?
One leg swelling: does not tie into the previous two problems (atrophy could) Swelling can be caused by leaky vessels, tissue injury, deep vein thrombosis, clogged lymphatics, bleeding into the leg, etc. Twitching followed by tightness of muscles obviates a good neurological assessment. ...Read more
Leg muscle twitching when i wake up. Have disc bulge/herniation. How is my disc issue causing fasciculations and why only after sleeping does it occur?
Could there be a connection between the muscle twitching throughout my body and the unilateral leg swelling below the knee? Neurological?
Highly doubt it: You basically outlined the answer and its rationale in your question....Bravo....that's an artistic flare. Something focal vs. something generalized and not only that but we're talking about symptoms that little to nothing in common with each other.....twitching or possibly muscle fasciculations vs. swelling or edema. The question is what is the edema or swelling due to? Trauma, infectious dz? ...Read more

Muscle twitching arms &legs under rib cage, even butt sometimes; don't hurt ; could this be stress? Cant keep l leg still either feel need to move it
Muscle twitching: Painless twitching can be benign, sometimes happens with magnesium deficiency or problems with calcium but there are certain types of twitching that warrant a good neurological exam to sort out. Many things can be blamed on stress but usually better to look for more worrisome answer before assuming that. ...Read more
