See your pediatrician and just ask them to take a look and do an exam and they will most likely be able to see and feel if it looks inflammatory or not. See a docotor: Redness, swelling and pain could indicate bleeding in the knee, a bad bruise, a bad sprain or a fracture. Serious injury is less likely if you can bear weight on that leg. Sharp pain could mean a fracture.
