Head hair falling more than usual. Yet Head hair + arm hair growing longer than usual. Is that anything specific or worth worrying about?
Hair loss, otherwise known as alopecia, can be caused by different reasons, including damage to the hair shaft or follicles or fungal infections. There are two main types of alopecia. Alopecia areata occurs when the body's immune system attacks hair follicles and causes hair to fall out. Androgenetic (or androgenic) alopecia, on the other hand, is an inherited form of hair loss. You're kind of young: All normally masculinized men lose the hair on our temples at around age 20. Men who progress early to male pattern baldness are generally those blessed with a lot of chest hair -- look around you. It's unusual to have it start on the crown at you age, and you may have telogen effluvium or one of the other causes. Ask your physician. Good looks is about fitness much more than hair. ...Read more
