Small boil red penny size similar after two days. Had a head on it yesterday. Clinic said not mrsa: not worse after 2 days not hard pussy sound ok?

Cultured? Drained?: If the boil has not been cultured I do not know how they can say with certainty that it is not mrsa. That being said MRSA does tend to make more painful and rapidly increasing lesions. Interestingly, just draining them can frequently be adequate treatment however if antibiotics are not used then they do tend to recur. ...Read more

How can I tell if its herpes or ingrown hair I have a red bump on the top of my vagina. Today I popped it and it was like a popping a black head?

Ingrown hair: You ask a good question and any painful lump or bump on the vagina warrants examination, however this is more likely an infected hair follicle/ingrown hair/folliculitis given that herpes tends to look like a small, clear, fluid filled blister with red patches. Hope that helps. Keep the area clean and dry. ...Read more

Itchy bumps inside of my vagina mainly where I shave they look like they have a red head on some of them does this sound like herpes? I am on my period and it does feel kinda sore there are multiple

Unlikely: This sounds more like irritation from shaving. I often recommend not to shave as skin in this area is extremely sensitive, and prone to rash and blister-like lesions. Usually herpes has bumps that are clustered/bunched together, and the bumps look like they have water in them almost. Usually this is very painful but not always. I would go get a physical exam. ...Read more

What is the reason for my eye redness when I wear my contact lens too late at night?

Many possibilities: Poor fit, dryness, irritation from preservatives in your cleaning solution, buildup of protein deposits on the lens itself are all common possibilities. Although some contacts are approved for long-term/overnight wear, I believe the healthiest options are to never wear overnight, and consider daily disposable lenses (so that you are always putting in a clean, fresh, preserve.-free lens each day). ...Read more

My bottom eye lid is swollen. No redness only slight discomfort. Should I be concerned? I use ointment in my bottom eyelid at night for dry eye.

Possible concern: Dry eye is common, can respond well to ointment but does not cause eyelid swelling. Is the tenderness at one spot or diffuse? Is there a palpable nodule? Is this short term or has it been there awhile? Try using very warm washcloths 4-5 times a day on the lid and if it disappears, it was likely a stye. If still present after 4-5 days, have an ophthalmologist look at it. ...Read more
