Why Is My Big Toenail Yellow And There Are Lumps On My Big Toe
Big toe has a red area at bottom of my toenail looks swollen a bit and weird clear ooze that hardens into yellow crusty stuff tried peroxide it foams?
Is it itchy: Appears to be an eczema from the description you gave. Avoid putting hydrogen peroxide. Clean with tap water and soap, dry the area and then apply a steroid cream -otc preparations initially. If not helpful than get a more potent preparation from your pcp it doesn't appear to be pyogenic whitlow as there appears to be less question of pain. Avoid changing shoes often. My toenails on my rt foot have gotten thicker but not yellow. Could it be fungus? I had an injury to big toe and now that nail and the others arethick
Can I use apple cider vinegar directly on my toenails? They're hard, a little bit yellow at the tips. One big toe has black stuff that i can't reach.
My big toe is red an numb and somewhat sore. Now my toenail is yellow and trying to fall off. What is wrong with it?
Onycholysis/mycosis: Your nail is coming loose because fungus in the toenail distorts the shape of the nail. The nail becomes loose and constantly moves with walking causing irritation and redness and infection. See a podiatrist for antibiotics and treatment options. Oral antifungals only have a 38% cure rate and topicals have less than a 10% cure rate. The nail can also be removed permanently by a podiatrist. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Possibly: Depending on the causes or etiology of the problem. If the condition was caused by trauma to the nail root there are less chances to repair the damaged nail. My two big toe nails have completely cracked horizontally. One fell off half way and the other is yellow. They are ugly. What can I do about them?
Big toe right foot, under toe nail theres a yellow line. I haven't been to a doctor in like 20 yrs.I smoke cig.I know my health is bad, but this is new.
I'm : I'm not all that clear on what you mean by a "yellow line." vertical? Horizontal? Perfectly straight? Slowly growing or suddenly appearing? Beyond a better description, adding a link to a photograph would also help. So, given the limit of what information you provided, it's hard to make any kind of reasonable determination as to the cause. I will say that one of the most common causes of discolored toenails is a fungal infection, and while fungal infections of the nails can start with any sort of pattern, it's not typically a "line." i would be remiss in any answer to advise you of the obvious, though. Being a smoker especially, it's probably a good idea to see a doctor every 20 years or so, whether you need to or not, especially if you "know [your] health is bad." as much as it's annoying to see us doctors (believe me, i know!), there is an alternative to bad health..... Good health! if you can post a picture of your toenail, i'll try my best to give you a more meaningful answer. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
