Doctor insights on:
Why Is My Anus So Itchy
I have little wound on upper anus. It is itchy sometimes. There have been a month since I got this wound. What should I do?
When ever I finish going to the toilet about an hour later I get all itchy around the anus I wipe well I had a pile a few months ago?
Too much wiping: Often "wiping well" causes trauma to the skin around the anus that will lead to chronic itching. Using moist wipes often allow "getting clean" without excessive wiping and trauma. A short course of a mild topical steroid can be helpful for the itching when more important causes have been ruled out.See 1 more doctor answer
My anus has been itchy for 3 days. Not bad enough to where I have to scratch it but it's constant. I'm 18, this has never happened. What could it be??
Anal pruritis: This could be hemorrhoids, fungal infection or other infection. You can try some over the counter hemorrhoidal cream first, and if this does not work, see your MD.
Anal issues: There a significant number of benign disease of the anus that can cause symptoms. Some of the more common include hemorrhoids, fissures, fistulas and abscesses. Your appear to be describing a inflamed prolapsed internal hemorrhoid. I would suggest you see you primary doctor for an exam and treatment.
Hemorrhoid: Could be a hemorrhoid. Avoid toliet paper an use baby wipes. Try some otc preph and steroid ointment for 7 days. If no better call md.
Might be yeast.: It isn't uncommon to get a rectal or vaginal yeast infection after using antibiotics. Antibiotics kill the bacterial flora, but not the yeast that live in the area. Yeast, then, have the chance to "overgrow." many people will benefit from over-the-counter non-prescription yeast medications. Ask your pharmacist. Lgromkomd.
Long list: The shape, size, color and texture of the "bump" would be important in making the diagnosis. Has it grown in size? Is there any pain, bleeding or drainage? You should have your doctor examine the bump.
Itchy Anus: An itchy anus could be caused by many things: detergent allergy, external hemorrhoid, pinworms, moisture, diarrhea etc... Pinworms come out at night, so if you are itching mostly at night, this could be the problem. A piece of clear tape placed on the anus when it is itching at night can show tiny mites. Hemorrhoids treated with preparation-h. Try unscented laundry soap to r/o allergy.
TimetoStopThDryClean: Could be you're not wiping that area enough after you unload. Try moistening the toilet paper a bit with some water (cold, not hot) and wipe thoroughly; also, try and push inside a bit to clean out that rim. If that doesn't work, keep doing that anyways and get some antifungal cream at the drug store and try using that three times a day for a week and if that doesn't work write back, there's more
What could be the cause of itchiness around my anus and also noticed blood when I wiped after doing number 2?
Hemorrhoid.: It sounds like you might have a hemorrhoid. Hemorrhoids can cause itchiness or even pain in this area, and they will tend to bleed because they are dilated veins.See 1 more doctor answer
