See answer: If you are able to get a full erection when masturbating or on awakening in the morning it's unlikely a physical problem. If you get a full erection but unable to maintain it you may have a venous leak. If unable to get an erection you may have low T or another problem. Real: There is a form of narcolepsy called "sleep paralysis" which is very much what you're describing. It tends to happen when you're excessively tired and/or sleep deprived. Here's the good news: although it's very scary, it's not dangerous! You may feel like you're going to die, but you won't. When you wake up (and that can be hard to do with narcolepsy), it all goes away. ...Read more

Sadly, not much: When you have hemorrhoids in pregnancy there's not much you can do save for a few simple things. Drink until your pee is clear to prevent constipation. Use MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) once a day. It's easy on stomach and not absorbed by body. Eat plenty of vegetables, fruit and fiber. You can try otc hemorrhoid treatments, but their relief usually doesn't last long. After pregnancy you can see a surgeon. Good luck. ...Read more

I am a virgin. What is the best way to start having sex when everything seems so tight down there? It hurts when i try to put anything.

Sex: Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on your perspective, one does not go to the doctor to learn how to have or when to have sex. There are some significant ethical rules about this. I often encourage my patients to get a good guide to sex like "the joy of sex' to learn the basics. Mothers and older sisters or aunts are often a good source of information as well. ...Read more

Foot drop: The simple answer is yes. Fatigable weakness is common as you are recovering. Too much too often too soon may inhibit recovery. Especially if the axons or wires have been injured and new branches develop which are susceptible to injury. But, progressive strengthening is critical as you recover. Shortness of breath in pregnancy and frequent burping?

Shortness of breath in pregnancy and frequent burping?

Common: Common during pregnancy. You need more oxygen during pregnancy and the body adapts to this. Also as the growing baby/uterus pushes against your diaphragm (muscle of breathing) your breathing might feel more labored. Burping occurs because the hormones in your body relax the muscles of the GI tract, causing more gas and bloating resulting in frequent burping. Both reverse after delivery. ...Read more

Tantrums normal at 3: Tantrums are quite normal and expected at 3 years of age! Be sure he is in a safe place and won't injure himself and let the storm pass. In general you want to ignore tantrum behavior and continue to reward your child's positive behaviors as you go through the next year. The tantrums should lessen within the year. As long as the refusal to walk resolves after the tantrum I am not concerned. ...Read more

Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
