reduce the amount & length of time you strain to give the hemorrhoids time to heal (having a bm every other day is fine)
drink a lot of fluids, eat fruits and vegetables. Sometimes, nuts (cashew especially) can exacerbate the condition, stay away from nuts. Decongestants could make things worse. Suppositories could help.

Be careful: witch hazel can be soothing but frequent use could cause contact/irritant dermatitis. Same goes for the other two. If you don't use more than 3-4 times a day it is probably ok. Try warm sitz bath, and practice kegel exercise for your anus like you would for your vagina.
