AHankerin'FerACanker: That's most probably a "canker sore" ("apthous ulcer"). They can really hurt! No one is sure of the cause. They tend to recur. There's lots about it on-line. Lotsa really weird recommendations. I've found frequent application of a high-potency steroid works well. The trick is rubbing it in then keeping the saliva away for a while.
