Why Does The Vitamin Bottle Make Me Retch When I Open It Up
May not be good: Some vitamins have a very strong odor to them because of the way they are made. Multivitamins and b complexes are notorious for this. It could also be that they are not well made. To check the effcacy of your vitamins, put them in regular vinegar. If they dont dissolve in 15 minutes, throw them away. They have no bio-availability. I recommend physician grade products, capsules are great. ...Read more
I'm pregnant and can't possibly stomach any form of protein without vomiting. I'm taking pre natal vitamins but worried it's not enough for my bub?
Plant-based proteins: If by protein you mean meat, there are still plenty of plant-based proteins you can eat -- and if you can tolerate them, dairy ; eggs. (i've known pregnant women who crave eggs.) plant-based proteins include beans of all kinds; leafy greens like spinach; quinoa; buckwheat (gluten-free and unrelated to wheat despite the name); nuts; spirulina; peas, etc. http://tinyurl.com/kalj2tj. ...Read more
I'm in my 2nd trimester of pregnancy and my morning sickness has subdued. At night i take prenatal vitamins an hour after eating & i always feel very nauseous & i end up vomiting. Why is this happening?
Maybe iron.: Prenatal vitamins have more iron in them than regular vitamins which may be upsetting your stomach. You could taking the vitamin as half after breakfast and half after dinner to see if that helps. I'd also take it right after dinner (don't wait an hour). You could try a different brand (but they all have iron). Start with half tab twice a day with food and let me know if it helps -. ...Read more

Is D3 and ‘cholecalciferol’ interchangeable? Or is ‘cholecalciferol’ a specific type of d3?. I want to make sure I am taking the right vitamin because none of the bottles i found said ‘cholecalciferol’... Just d3.
Vitamin : Vitamin d3 has 3 recognized forms: - cholecalciferol - the inactive form of d3 - Calcitriol - the active form of d3 - calcifediol - the form of d3 measured in the blood to assess vitamin d status cholecalciferol is turned into calcifediol by the liver and then into the active form of vitamin d3 (calcitriol) by the kidney. Cholecalciferol is the form of vitamin d3 found in supplements, so a vitamin which says it has "d3" means just that it has cholecalciferol and should be fine. ...Read more
Left vitamins/supplements near a heater. The bottles were warm, but not the capsules inside. Will this make the capsules go bad or less effective?
I usually that 2 gummy vitamins, but I think I might have taken 2 more on accident. The bottle says take 2 per day. I think I took 4. Is that ok?
