May have plantar: Fasciitis. Does it hurt in the morning as well? You should see a podiatrist for an actual diagnosis and for inserts to provide better arch support. This could also be causing some of your back pain. Avoid wearing high heels. Arch support will be most important along with podiatrist visit, but you could try freezing a gold ball or water bottle and placing on the ground, massaging bottom of foot. ...Read more

Stretches do help: A fellow sufferer here, as well as several MDs in our practice. The stretches on the link below do help, you will see progressive improvement. Plantar fasciits: Sounds like classic plantar fascittis. You should strech out your plantar fascia three times a day with a strech band. Take a NSAID or anti inflammatory to reduce swelling twice a day. Ice and rest the arch with massage can help acute symptoms.
