I have been dxd with subclinical hypo thyroidism.  I am very tired.. How is this treated?

Not subclinical now: Subclinical means not clinical which means you are not having symptoms from the hypothyroidism, but you do have symptoms (tired). Thus, this is not subclincal. If you have the lab result to support hypothyroidism, along with your being tired, treating it is a reasonable course of action. Interesting question: Hypothyroidism, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome all share similar symptoms, such as fatigue, depression and muscle pain. I would say many patients with uncontrolled hypothyroidism could have the same symptoms as patients with fibromyalgia and cfs. They could coexist. But most patients with fibromyalgia and cfs don't have hypothyroidism. ...Read more

Look for another cau: If your thyroid is functioning normally(not under active) then the cause of your tiredness is not thyroid related. There are many other causes that only your doctor can define/address by examining you and testing your lab.Make sure that you are not anemic(check cbc) and your emotional health is normal and that you are sleeping well. Check thyroid first: B"sd If being on a med for "low TSH" means treatment with an antithyroid drug for hyperthyroidism, then the first concern is your thyroid status as this requires frequent monitoring. Thyroid function will change depending on the dose and effectiveness of the medication and the course of the underlying thryoid disease. Go see your doctor: I assume your ct scan & pulmonary function test were normal but that doesn't explain why you're using a bronchodilator/inhaler. How do you know your thyroid is normal? Your fast pulse may be due to an overactive thyroid, your use of bronchodilator, anemia (cause of unusual tiredness & slight lightheadedness, too), fever (you didn't mention your own temperature), etc. Heavy breathing could be pneum. ...Read more
