Whenever I lay down after I drink some water (any amount), my lower back (possibly around my kidneys) begins to hurt. It's just very uncomfortable.

Drink water: There is no way that water drinking can be involved in back pain. A hiatal hernia hurts under the rib cage. Sx are from you spine or rarely Renal. Check w/ Murphy punch striking kidney area with the pinky side of your fist. A light tap is painful with kidney problems. Otherwise get a thoracolumbar x-ray for old injury or congenital problems. IV shooters get a disc infection.

Talk to your doctor: It is always best to discuss any dietary changes first with your doctor. It is important to stay hydrated when you have a history of kidney stones.

Need an exam: Your back pain may or may not be from your kidneys. Lack of hydration doesn't cause kidney pain. Pain is your bodies way of telling you that something is wrong. Best to listen to it and see a physician to find out what the problem is. Hopefully you will find out it's nothing serious. Get well soon.

Flank pain?: Your kidneys are located in your flanks. If you are having pain under your ribs in your back you need to see a physician. You could have an infection or you could have an obstruction in the ureter.

How serious is having left kidney pains on normal days, and while on period, and after drinking water? And my right one also hurts but not as much.

How serious is having left kidney pains on normal days, and while on period, and after drinking water? And my right one also hurts but not as much.

See remark: This is unusual unless you have partially obstructed LT. kidney, specially when you drink water which increases the load on the kidney. Given your young age, I recommend you see a urologist in your country to evaluate and manage the problem. As a urologist, this is what I'll do in this country. I'll be interested to know the outcome. I drink soda all the time. I'm getting a CT scan today. Is it ok to drink soda right after I'm done r will it hurt my kidneys?

Soda is ok!: Soda will not cause any problems for your kidneys before or after a ct scan. If you are having IV contrast as part of the exam, it may even help to clear the contrast out faster.

If your back hurts like all the time and your not lifting anything and you don't drink water could that be a sign of kidney infection?

If your back hurts like all the time and your not lifting anything and you don't drink water could that be a sign of kidney infection?

May be, but: Usually infection will have other symptoms like burning urination, fever, or frequency of urination. Without these symptoms you may or may not have uti. You need urinalysis to confirm. Other possibilities include muscle spasms or kidney stones.

Muscle damage: It is unlikely that you feel the kidneys or the pain is in your kidneys. It is more likely to be due to damage to the muscles of the back. If you drink again, you are likely to suffer the same symptoms again, may be worse. Alcohol is a poison and it never did any body any good ever. So stay away from it. Keep drinking enough water so that your urine is mostly colorless. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

My is my right kidney hurting after drinking beer is a burning sensation and when I go too the bathroom and pass water it hurts?

My is my right kidney hurting after drinking beer is a burning sensation and when I go too the bathroom and pass water it hurts?

Pain with urination: What you describe likely has nothing to do with drinking beer. Burning with urination of new onset is a urinary tract infection until proven otherwise. See your physician and have a urine culture.

Is it possible to have no UTI and still have a kidney infection? I had pee test came back normal but is till hurt in the kidneys I don't drink water.

UTI: Uti is a term that encompasses the entire urinary tract. It is often substituted for a bladder infection or cystitis. The kidney can be infected without lower urinary tract symptoms.

Why does my lower back left side hurt when I drink (only one mixed drink sent me into pain)?

Flank pain: There is a scenario in which there is obstruction to urinary flow at the junction of kidney outflow to the urine tube (ureteropelvic junction). This is dynamic obstruction and when there is increased urine flow, like after drinking beer, the obstruction becomes prominent and cause flank pain. This one of the many possibilities. Kindly get evaluated by a doctor.

Why does my lower back hurt when I drink soda

Why does my lower back hurt when I drink soda

Risk of arthritis!: Soda consumption is associated with increased risk of diabetes & heart disease, but a study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (7/2014) found that sugary sodas when consumed regularly can increase by 63% the risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis. More likely than not however your situational back pain reflects referred discomfort from a distended gut due to the fizz in soda.

Why does my lower back hurt when I drink alcahol?

Several possibilites: Your body objects to processing alcohol. Pain is meant to tell us something is amiss. This could be expressed as referred pain from your stomach, liver and/or kidneys. Worth a visit to your doc to get lab work (liver function), physical exam and discuss any other symptoms going on. More diagnostic info is needed to be able to comment in any more detail.

Could be multiple: Could be multiple things. Could just be a virus or a stomach ulcer or more. Would need further work up by your physician to be certain.
