Why Does My Head Have Ridges
My child was born without metopic ridge, yet a definitive ridge has now formed. Her head growth has been normal. She is now 1. Should i be concerned?
See pediatrician: It may not be anything to worry about, but your pediatrician should evaluate not only the child's head growth (head circumference) but also the shape of the head. Pearly penile papules are considered normal. A doctor can evaluate the lumps. ...Read more

3 mo old w/ 1x2.5cm Anterior font and ridge in forehead, round head. Neonatologist carefully examined, measure, said not 2 worry. Is it normal?
Yes, but: Anytime a parent has concerns about head size/shape, it deserves close monitoring because things change very rapidly at this age. The exam and measurements should occur monthly until all sutures have closed on the skull, usually 9-12 months of age.
