Why Does My Clavicle Hurt
The base of my neck where the sternocliedomastoid connects to clavicle area hurts to the touch. What could be the cause?
Muscle pain: The most likely cause is a muscle strain. The sternocleidomastoid functions in neck rotation, so a strain can result from overuse of the neck muscles or abnormal neck positioning. Another cause could be infection of the overlying skin and or muscle itself. This would be associated with redness and warmth in the area. Treat initially with ice, anti-inflammatories, rest. My clavicle area hurts only after eating fried potatoes. It's a slow dull pain that goes away when I stretch but it lasted around 30 mins a few times?
