See MD: You're taking a hefty dose of clomipramine plus Risperidal (risperidone) (? dose) which have numerous side effects and some drug interactions. Please consider seeing a psychiatrist if you're not currently. These medications must be closely monitored for safety reasons and therapeutic effect.

Electric shocks in middle toe when walking or tapping foot. Very painful to walk. Steriod injection didn't help. How can l treat this?

Electric shocks in middle toe when walking or tapping foot. Very painful to walk. Steriod injection didn't help. How can l treat this?

The first step,: Of course, is to make the correct diagnosis. First on my list of differential diagnoses would be Morton's Neuroma, a benign tumor usually located at the base of a toe on the ball of the foot. See Podiatrist or Foot Orthopedist first for this. Surgery is most definitive treatment. Other potential causes of electric shock could be tarsal tunnel or even MS. These specialists will help sort this out.

Doctor can evaluate: A primary care doctor and a neurologist can evaluate to see what might be going on. From this question, it's hard to tell exactly what sensations one is feeling. Some patients with a condition called arachnoiditis have sensations that may feel like insects crawling on the skin or water trickling down the leg. Arachnoiditis is an inflammation of one of the linings of the spinal cord.

32 weeks pregnant. Babys movements feel like hiccups but have lasted for over an hour and are painful. Rappid tapping nonstop for more than an hour.?

Need to be evaluated: The fact that you are 32 weeks pregnant and have persistent painful sensations in your abdomen is of concern. At a minimum discuss with your doctor. However, I would suggest an evaluation to rule out labor.

Is it normal for babies to suck their feet?

Is it normal for babies to suck their feet?

Yes: By 6 months baby has gained enough crude control of arms and legs to explore them by mouthing. Fingers (by 4-5 mo) and toes&feet (by 6months) are readily available teething objects. Any mouthing at this age is considered a simple self soothing or self play. As the child ages, their interest in tasteing objects (to program their brain) can be troublesome. Bugs on the floor are fair game.

I've heard that you shouldn't tickle a babies feet. Is this true? If so why shouldn't you do it?

I've heard that you shouldn't tickle a babies feet. Is this true? If so why shouldn't you do it?

Not true: Don't know of a medical reason why baby's feet shouldn't be tickled. How the baby will react is a different story. If a baby doesn't like it, then probably shouldn't make the baby cranky/upset by tickling those little feet.

Why do babies sweat on there feet?

Why do babies sweat on there feet?

Everybody does: Everyone sweats on their feet. Sweat glands are in many parts of the body. Some people may sweat more than others, but everyone sweats! Babies typically have chubby feet and may be overdressed for the temperature. Keep him cool and lightly dressed when appropriate. Dress him in the same amount of clothing in which you feel comfortable. Don't use shoes when the baby isn't walking yet.

Do shoes help babies' feet develop properly?

Do shoes help babies' feet develop properly?

No: Babies don't need shoes to develop or learn to walk at all. For safety and cold protection away from home, they are a good idea, but learning to walk "au naturale" is the best for natural foot and walk/run development.

Why didy babies feet turn blue for a short period then went away he was happy and looked pink every where else?

Why didy babies feet turn blue for a short period then went away he was happy and looked pink every where else?

Most likely nothing: To worry about. The circulation to the feet can constrict when cold, giving the blue appearance.

What is a common hand, foot and mouth disease in babies?

What is a common hand, foot and mouth disease in babies?

Fever/spots/pain: Hfm is a viral gut infection. Some kids can have it & run a brief temperature & never show other symptoms. Some have fever, localized spots on their wrists & nothing else. Some have terrible mouth sores, spots on wrists/forearms/legs feet & around the bottom & have cramping & loose stools. So fever, loose stools &cramps, amount & location of blisters seem to be the main variables.

My infant has small blister like bumps on her feet. They are also white and it appears to be itching her. What can that be?

Viral?: Did your baby have a fever? Does your baby have blisters anywhere else? Like in her hands or in her mouth. Your description sounds like a cocxacki virus, which is benign and will resolve in 3-5 days. It is important to keep your baby comfortable and well hydrated. See your doctor if your baby is irritable or there is a high fever.

My infant, 19 months, has been limping almost to the point of not walking on her left foot. It's warm to the touch with slight swelling. Broken?

Hard to say: Possibilities range from a bug bite reaction to an infection in her foot/ankle. Without an exam, its just to hard to say. Pick up the phone and call her doc, you can discuss all the things you see and decide how soon and where to be seen.

Is it normal if an infant is running a high temp for their hands n feet to turn ice cold for the duration of the fever? And why

NO not normal: An infant running a "high temp" should be seen to determine the etiology. I would recommend calling your health care provider and reporting this.
