Why Does My Baby Sneeze Whenever We Leave The House
Brightness or breeze: Great question! very likely this is due to how bright it is outside compared to inside. Some babies sneeze in bright light (sun, looking up recessed lights, doctor exams) in the first few months, just like if some adults "need" to sneeze, looking at the sun can bring it on. Could also be a breeze or pollen but my money's on sunlight. To test, see if it also happens at night. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I have yr round allergies. Why then when it rains does my nose stop up, and my sinuses bother me. Wouldn't rain wash away what is in the air?
It's normal.: When this happens with my kids, the usually sitter gives a quick hug to our baby, and then hands him over without any fanfare or long goodbyes or drama. Very businesslike. If you and his mom put on a dramatic show, the kid thinks it's a dramatic event. And even if he does cry, it's normal - he's obviously formed an attachment to you, which means you're doing a great job! ...Read more
No: The care of uncircumcised penis in a baby is easy. You leave it alone. Bathe your baby frequently and cleanse the penis on the outside. No other manipulation is needed as the foreskin will retract on its own over time. The entire process takes many years. If you forcefully try to retract the foreskin you may cause pain, tears and adhesions latter on. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

Unlikely to be pbm: Water from bathing can easily be drawn from the canal by putting the edge of a dry cloth at the opening. Infants create wax that coats the ear canal walls and bathwater seldom if ever creates any problems.I have not seen an infected canal from bathwater in decades. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Everytime I go on an airplane, the air makes my ears hurt so badly, I almost start crying, how to prevent this?
Why does my unborn baby move up 2 seconds after i get startled or frightened? Am i affecting the baby when i get scared?
Physiologic response: When you get startled your body produces adrenalin & stress hormones like cortisol that affect your baby. While all moms have some stress when pregnant, studies show moms with severe stress have higher risk of premature birth, babies with low birth weight & kids with greater risk of hyperactivity & emotional problems. Taking steps to reduce stress is wise.See http://tinyurl.com/mog3g4h & comment: ...Read more
Do not smoke: Smoke exposure in children causes a 2-fold increase in respiratory infections (ear infections, sinus infections, colds, bronchitis, and pneumonia). So, the best measure is for no family members to smoke. Short of that, you should never smoke in the home or car and wear a jacket when smoking that you take off when entering the house. Talk with you doctor about proven ways to help stop smoking. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Likes Being naked: It is important to make sure the diaper is not too tight or rubbing the inner thighs or along the hips. Some babies really do not like being clothed and others love it. . If the diapers are not too tight, and no rash issues, and baby quits crying after a little bit, it is most likely (s)he doesn't like being in diapers and will adjust with time. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

My baby's almost a week old, when can I take him outside? And when can I leave the house to do things?
No official time...: The american academy of pediatrics has no specific age cutoff before going in public. Airlines need a docs permission if newborn flying is less than 1 week. It's really up to you. The newborn's immune system isn't completely developed yet, so viruses and bacteria can be more harmful. Use common sense, and lots of hand washing. Make sure close contacts have their whooping cough booster (tdap). ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
My babies toes are spit... is it ok to clean the spit and super glue them back like i do on my own when the same thing happens?
No: I would not recommend applying super glue on a baby. Their rate of healing is much faster than an adults and an cuts will typically heal within a couple of days. Protect the toes and if you are concerned with non-healing or infection please see a specialist immediately. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

See your doctor: Many infants between 9 months and 3 years old will have breath holding spells where they turn "blue" and can faint from holding their breath. These spells occur in response to pain or anger - always. Some kids will have some blueness around the lips (not the lips themselves) when crying and this can be normal. I would have my child seen to be sure it is a breath holding spell & nothing concerning. ...Read more
Allergy vs asthma?: Your cough might represent a bronchoconstrictive reaction to an airborne allergen or could be evidence of cold-induced asthma. My Boyfriend is coughing and hacking the second we walk through our front door yet it stops if we leave what might cause this and we have a cat n dog?
Allergy: More people are allergic to cats then dogs. This does not mean that it is necessarily the animals. It could be other allergens. Cheap man's test. Don't have him enter the room and bring your cat to him and see what he does. Then do the same for the dog. If neither causes the symptoms it's not the animals and keep looking. If he gets the response then u have to choose between your BF or Pet ;) ...Read more
Separation Anxiety: When a baby is 7 to 12 months old, a very important stage in development occurs called "object permanence". What this means is now your baby can remember and recreate images in her mind. She knows you exist even if she does not see you.
