Why does my baby need to be held constantly?

Why does my baby need to be held constantly?

Comfort: Babies need to be held for comfort, because they are experiencing pain, and the need for body contact. Irritable babies benefit from long periods of holding. Some new parents have difficulty when an infant cries so they pick the child up at the first significant crying. Crying does not always mean a child needs to be picked up. Slow as brief period of crying to see if the baby will self sooth. ...Read more

What should I do if my baby wants to be held constantly?

What should I do if my baby wants to be held constantly?

Depends on the age: Newborns need to be held. Up to a couple months of age, a baby only understadns if his needs can be met. Hold him all you can, but allow him always to learn to fall asleep by himself by placing him in his crib when sleepy. After this period s he becomes more interested in the world around him, play with him while he is on his mat or chair so he does not expect to be held all the time. ...Read more

What does it mean when your baby constantly puts pressure on your abdomen and constantly balls up and should I be concerned.

What does it mean when your baby constantly puts pressure on your abdomen and constantly balls up and should I be concerned.

Might be false labor: You didn't say how far along you are. But usually when the uterus feels hard and tight then relaxes then gets hard again it's a braxton hicks contraction which is a false labor pain. This is common and not a problem. However if there is pain low that lasts a minute and keeps coming back, and if you're also having spotting it might be labor. Call your doctor. ...Read more

From : From your description, it is difficult to assess whether your child is developing appropriately. Many children do not sit until 6 months and do not crawl until 7 or 8 or sometimes even not at all (and that's ok). All children develop at different rates and as long as they are developing within the established range of normal, it's fine - that's what makes comparing 2 kids to each other an inaccurate way of assessing development. Your son may have been advanced and your daughter is normal. That being said, if you have concerns, it is important that you have a professional do a thorough developmental evaluation on her to make sure she is progressing appropriately. If there is a problem, the earlier she begins therapy, the better off she will be in the long run. Contact your child's doctor to discuss your concerns. They will either be able to assess her development themselves or send you to a specialist who can assess her. (many organizations who provide developmental therapy conduct their own exams). I hope this helps! ...Read more

Continue if U wish: You have one 1st chance to deliver baby from the comfort of the womb & begin the process of having baby learn to self settle. That starts with feeding while waking, playing until tired & putting them down awake to self settle. If you accept that they will fuss some when they are tired & quit holding them, they learn to self settle.Otherwise plan to hold & rock 24/7 until kindergarten. ...Read more

My 5 year old keep burping. She says that she can't help it and doesn't know why. I do not think she is doing it intentionally or to get attention. ?

Real thing: No, she does not do it intentionally, or only to get attention. Things like lactose intolerance, acid reflux, constipation etc can cause burping more than usual. Hard to say: "Bad placenta" is not a specific term and could mean many things.Sometimes it forms a small disc that will not provide enough nourishment for normal growth. Some may be located in a position prone to tearing where premature separation could mean you and or baby will bleed to death. It is best that you discuss this with your treatment team until you understand what if anything can be done. ...Read more

My 1 year old baby keeps on waiking up at night sometimes to eat sometimes to pkay or just move to much why is that? We've tries everything!

Unfortunately, you : Can't do this for him. You have to ignore the behavior for it to go away;playing/feeding reinforces it. Have a consistent bed time & routine; read, rock, brush his teeth & let him learn to fall asleep in his own bed. If you can't ignore his night-crying without going into his room, sit in a chair without talking or making eye contact, moving your chair closer to the door nightly. See www.Aap.Org. ...Read more

Why does my son bang his head and should I be concerned. Sometimes he hurts himself when doing it. Wat do I do to get him to stop?

Positive ignoring: Head banging is just an amplification of early infant fussing. It peaks in preverbal years .I've never heard or seen a head banger with a real head injury. This likely caught on when he noticed it grabbed your attention. If you ignore it(don't lock eyes), watching him out of peripheral vision, for safety, it should fade over time.Teaching some sign language may help with the frustration. ...Read more

My baby's body does not recognize that he needs to poop I have had to use glycerin suppositories two days in a row now to make him have a bowel movement what else can I do it makes him very fussy and spits up when he cannot use the bathroom?

Make defecation fun!: Defecation/evacuation=a built in reflex. Creating/promoting control issues (you/others vs. baby) creates problems (wars) leading to longstanding health problems. If baby has been scolded/punished (by anyone) for defecating at inconvenient time/location, problems begin & can build. Study: William & Martha Sears many books, e.g. "Attachment Parenting" for better strategies; not product marketing. ...Read more

Infant had fever about 2 days up to 102.7 finally broke on day 2 but now has rash on head chest back and cries almost constantly?

Common patters: A lot of infant viral infections will have fever for a few days and end in a generalized rash. Some have names based on location and type of rash, but they are expected and rather benign.I'd consider the crying evidence it is not finished. As long as the kid takes fluids well and plays occasionally you can monitor at home.If not drinking the kid should be seen. ...Read more
