Why Does My Baby Have A Rash When She Is Sick
If you are pregnant.: ...and having pain and vaginal bleeding, you must get medical care ASAP. While a fetus may go several hours w/o moving, if you've felt no movement for 24 hours or more, that is also a reason to get immediate medical care. If you can't get in to see your OB, please go to an emergency department. Best wishes. Dr. Anne ...Read more
Yes: Infections are a prime cause of flares of jia/jra (and many other autoimmune diseases as well). Activating or "turning on" the immune system during many infections results in the production of chemical signalling molecules in the body that likely also cause the bad or "confused" white blood cells to become more active and attack the joints. Stress can also alter immune function and trigger flares. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Fevers : Fevers for the most part aren't dangerous and are just the body's natural reaction to fighting off an infection. Most of these infections are viral and may be accompanied by runny nose, sore throat, congestion, mild rash, or nothing at all. Since fevers aren't dangerous, we usually treat the fever with Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen just to make the child more comfortable as their body fights the illness. "red flags" that we look for with fever to indicate something more serious is going on are: -fevers that last 5 days or more -fevers persistently above 104f orally -a child that acts very sick - very irritable or difficult to wake -difficulty breathing -vomiting, diarrhea, refusal to drink, or dehydration -a purple rash, esp on the legs -stiff neck -any complaints of pain such as the ear, throat, stomach or a joint since she is crying as if something is hurting her, you should call her doctor and have her seen. As always, use your judgement. If you think that your child is ill, err on the side of caution and call your child's doctor. ...Read more
My Daughter (One Month Old) Has Thrush And Has Been Choking Constantly Is It Normal To Choke ? If So What Do i do When She does?
See pediatrician: You baby really needs to have an evaluation by their pediatrician. The thrush is going to require medicine to treat. The choking is something that the doc will assess to determine the cause (is it really choking, is the baby refluxing, is the baby having pain while swallowing due to the presence of the thrush???). This really requires an face to face evaluation. Don't delay. ...Read more
My 3 month daughter is keep been sick she got a coughandsnuffy and she abit chesty also her wee is strong you can smell it when she has had a few wee
Probably a cold.: The symptoms that she is having sound like a cold. If she has stared day care or if she has older siblings in day care, she is likely to get colds frequently. I would use saline nose drops and suction her nose when the congestion is bothering her. If she is running fever, i would go see her doctor to check her urine. Without fever, the concentrated urine may just be from not drinking as much. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Don't stop it: Diarrhea should not be stopped. Many causes of diarrhea in infants and young children are related to a virus which needs to run its course. Continue to keep her hydrated. Take her for further evaluation if she is also vomiting or the diarrhea does not subside after 2-3 days. ...Read more
Vomit with fever: When the body is fighting illness, it considers gut function to not be essential, so things slow down a lot. That's why you usually don't feel like eating when you are ill. Some peoples bodies take this to the extreme and almost shut down gut function, which leads to vomiting. Try just sips of fluids when he is ill or has fever and see if he can tolerate this. ...Read more
My sister seem to have this rash every now an then and it seem lumpy an it always makes her ill and shes in bed for days what do you think it could be?
Difficult to say: It's difficult to say, but it doesn't sound like this is anything serious. People often sneeze due to allergies or inhaling some type of other allergen (smoke, scent). If it's with certain foods, it's possible this could be an allergy, but if that's the only symptom that's not likely. As long as there are no other symptoms (cough, wheezing, swelling) it's likely nothing to worry about. ...Read more
Should i be concerned if my newborn baby girl is 45 days old nowand she cries a lot because of her stomach aches..What can I do?
My 11 month old baby turns purple when he cries or gets angry and he stops breathing is this bad? What can I do so that don't happen?
Breath-holding : Spells can occur in infants, sometimes with " passing out" from constriction of blood vessels in the brain from blowing off carbon dioxide. If it's a breath-holding spell, you'll need to ignore it in an 11-mo.-old so it won't become a "learned behavior." you'll only be able to do so after your pediatrician rules out cardiac or neurological problems that shouldn't be ignored. ...Read more
No difference: The way a baby latches to the breast, the tongue covers the teeth and you won't feel any difference. Some children, as the flow slows down at the end of the feeding, may slide off the nipple and bite. If you experience this, you can be proactive and take the baby off before that happens. Biting is not a normal part of breastfeeding and teeth rarely become and issue in the way it feels. ...Read moreSee 7 more doctor answers

Do you know why my son can not breath. It happens when he is running. Dr says he has not asthma. But my son turns red and complains that he can't brea?
Exercise-induced sx: It is highly possible that he has exercise-induced asthma (no symptoms at rest, only when physically active as when playing sports/running etc..If he had regular prenatal care with ultrasounds etc..Heart problem is less likely. Your doc may do breathing test in office, or a trial of inhaler use before exercise. If use of inhaler before sports help his symptoms, then u have the diagnosis. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
My 8 month old baby vomited this morning? Can I continue to breastfeed? What should I do? He has no fever but does have a cold.
Pediatrician: An 8 month old is still, in essence, an immunosuppressed host. If there are changes in feeding habits, alertness, sleep patterns, behavior and so on, it is always best to have the baby assessed by a professional. This is probably benign, but because even if rare things are missed in this young a baby they can become very severe very quickly. Better safe than sorry. ...Read more

My baby is 6mth i just noticed she doesn't flip from her back to her belly anymore she used to do it all the time. Is this normal? Should i worry?
Very normal: She can see less of the world on her belly, so stays on her back to find out what is going on. Soon, it will occur to her that she can creep or crawl from one place to another on her belly, and then she will start to flip that way again. Keep giving her lots of floor time so she can practice the transitions. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
