I have had an endoscopy and it showed no underlying p ANS: If no one has suggested it I recommend putting 6 inch blocks under the head of your bed. You can get them at Bed Bath and Beyond of DIY stores. This keeps acid from running into your esophagus which causes the pain. Works quickly and well. ...Read more

Gastroesophageal reflux is probably the most common cause of left sided chest pain. Other characteristics of pain including type, severity and duration are factors. Eating slowly, chewing thoroughly and drinking only a little water with the food will aid digestion, minimize gaseous backlash and stomach/intestinal pain. Possible: Does not sound like cardiac pain. Not unusual for gerd symptoms to act like this. An easy test is to simply take an over the counter medication for gerd like prilosec. If symptoms improve that may be it. I would still recommend you also see a physician to further evaluate your symptoms to make sure a more serious problem is not causing your problems. ...Read more

See gastro: I assume that you have already seen a gastroenterologist since you know that you have LES laxity. I am not sure that there is a cure for this short of surgery but your GI doctor could better advise you. To treat GERD we advise people to take PPI meds, avoid large meals, maintain normal weight and not eat any foods that trigger the symptoms. Raising the head of the bed about 3 inches can help. ...Read more

Follow instructions.: Tif is an excellent anti reflux surgery. Make sure to follow the diet and don't overeat. It's very important to not vomit for the first six weeks after surgery. Since you are: On Prilosec it is more likely that your symptoms of pain with pressure or push ups is due to the inflammation of your sternal cartilages ("costochondritis")

For chest pains of a cardiac origin: mostly exertional chest pressure, chest tightness lasting for 10-15 minutes and resolving at rest or with nitro, cold radiate to the left arm or jaw, mostly substernal on the lest side of the chest.
