Coffee; stomach: Coffee has acids that can irritate stomach (especially one already irritated); caffeine can exacerbate acid reflux. May have gastritis (irritated/inflamed stomach) or peptic ulcer or acid reflux. Hard to say: but the fact that you have kept drinking despite the fact that your back hurts when you drink tells me that I should be concerned that you may have an alcohol problem. It could be inflammation of your pancreas, stomach, duodenum or a problem with your gallbladder. Still be burning.: There are many things that can cause stomach burning. The most common are acid reflux and ulcers or gastritis. If this has been just short term, you could try using an over-the-counter anti-acid such a Zantac for a short course.
