Could be: Organisms are sometimes not killed by the medications that doctors prescribe to kill them. The bug is then called resistant to the drug. If you are still having symptoms go back to your doc and get re cultured and get a sensitivity report which will tell what drugs will kill the infecting bug. ...Read more

With vaginal itching and burning now, you may have a yeast infection from the antibiotic. Try an over the counter medicine for this, there are several that treat candidal infections. My question is I was diagnosed with Chlamydia in 2008 I had it for seven months the was treated and to this day I still get a burning sensation when I urinate I am trying to have children and I am afraid the chlamydia may have affected my fertility?

Time for a visit: You should not be burning with urination and certainly not from an old case of chlamydia that was properly treated. That issue should be worked out first. If you have been trying to get pregnant for more than a year you need to ask your OB about a fertility workup. Both you & spouse need to have tests done. NGU?: Chlamydia itself always is cured with doxycycline if taken as prescribed (usually for 7 days). However, some cases of nongonococcal urethritis (NGU) are not caused by chlamydia, and not all NGU responds well to doxycycline. And it's possible to have more than one cause.
