Eyes Rolling From Side To Side Before Falling Asleep
When I start to go to sleep I feel my breath cuts off sometimes while I'm laying in my back. It happens when my eyes are drowsy, what's wrong?
When i sleep on my side the arm and leg that are on bottom fall asleep but wake up when i move without pins and needles. Cause?
Nerve impingement: This can be temporary like when you rest your arm in the wrong position but could also be more serious like related to a nerve bocked by a bone spur cutting off circulation/nerve nutrients to the rest of the tissue. If this only happens during sleep, it is probably positioning and can take minues to even near and hour to return to 'normal.' look at the support of your bed/pillow first. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Why does my hands up to my elbow keep going numb and tingly. Also it seems to happen more when i'm driving and sleeping it wakes me up numerous times.?
Nerve compression.: Numbness and tingling in the hands is usually caused by nerve compression. The nerve can be compressed in the neck, the extremity or both. Your symptoms are consistent with carpal tunnel syndrome (cts). Cts is due to median nerve compression at the wrist, causing numbness/tingling in the thumb, index, long and 1/2 of the ring finger. Cubital tunnel syndrome affects the other fingers in the hand. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Why does my arm fall asleep when I put it in front of my head laying down on my stomach? Is it normal?
Also why does my left arm feel like it wants to go to sleep when I fall asleep? Should I be worried?
May be nerve problem: If an arm falls asleep, goes numb or tingly, or has changes in circulation, just in certain positions of the arm, there may be compression of the nerves and/or blood vessels to that arm. A primary care doctor, neurologist, and physiatrist (physical medicine & rehabilitation doctor) can help figure this out. Sometimes special x-rays are done to see if there is a problem of the nerve at the spine. ...Read more

When I wake up in the morning, my eyes will feel dry or as if something is stuck in them whenever I close them to go back to sleep. Is there something?
Eye dryness: The eyes secrete 1/2 the normal level of tears at night and if your tear flow is lower to begin with, then waking up can be accompanied by a sticky or painful feeling until the normal daily tear flow starts. if this is common, you can try putting in plain eye ointment into the eye prior to sleep (available over the counter) which can relieve the symptoms. ...Read more

Nightmares when falling asleep on back. Its where i know im asleep and try and shout out but can't wake myself, why does this happen when on my back?
Sleep apnea?: I wonder if you might have sleep apnea. Many people begin to lose oxygen when they fall asleep on their backs because, as they begin to relax, their tongue falls backward and closes off their airway, leading to suffocation. If your nightmares are about suffocating or drowning i would consider that this might be happening to you. Many people need too sleep on their sides just for this reason. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I keep feeling the sensation to move my ankles especially in the evening? Why? How to stop this? Luckly, its not bad enough to distrub my sleep,
Sounds like RLS: Restless leg syndrome is a condition that gives you this feeling that you just need to move your ankles or legs, sometimes during the day but especially at night. There are medications available, but if it doesn't disturb your sleep I'd probably just leave it alone. Just get a nerve conduction test to make sure it's nothing from your lumbar spine. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Quantity vs Quality: While you're describing an adequate quantity of sleep, you may be suffering from poor quality sleep, for instance, sleep apnea, which can lead to inappropriate sleeping during the day.
