I have a headache for the last 3 weeks now and nothing seems to help. Now I even wake up with it. What could this mean? I have taken different pain med. Been to a chirapractor and heat pads and icyhot. Its not going away.
Based on your description you are suffering from new daily persistent headaches. What is not clear is if you have a prior history of headaches which changes the diagnosis as patients with new daily persistent headaches usually do not have a history of a prior headaches. See if you fit the following diagnostic criteria:
headache that is daily and unremitting from very soon after onset (within 3 days at most). The pain is typically bilateral, pressing or tightening in quality and of mild to moderate intensity. There may be photophobia, phonophobia or mild nausea.
a.Headache that, within 3 days of onset1, fulfils criteria b-d
b.Headache is present daily, and is unremitting, for >3 months
c.At least two of the following pain characteristics:
2.Pressing/tightening (non-pulsating) quality
3.Mild or moderate intensity
4.Not aggravated by routine physical activity such as walking or climbing
d.Both of the following:
1.No more than one of photophobia, phonophobia or mild nausea
2.Neither moderate or severe nausea nor vomiting
e.Not attributed to another disorder
entities that are attributable to this diagnosis include:
1. Chronic tension type headache
2. Medication overuse
3. Obstructive sleep apnea
5. Posttraumatic headaches
7. Headaches secondary to an infection (particularly viral)
8. Low CSF volume headache
9. Raised CSF pressure headache
10. Cervical spondylosis/stenosis
hence, you need a neurologic evaluation to help sort out these issues. Good luck and well wishes. ...Read more

In my dreams I know when something's going to happen and sometimes I can stop it and sometimes I can't, why is this?
I have a Rnp result of 1.1 everything else was in normal range. Does this possibly mean something else is going on?
Not a screening test: The RNP is sometimes found in MIxed Connective Tissue Disease (MCTD), an autoimmune condition but I would look at things differently. The RNP is worthless as a screening test. It should not be performed for symptoms such as fatigue, achiness, poor sleep, etc. Only if MCTD is strongly suspected would the RNP be useful as a confirmatory test. Your RNP of 1.1 is borderline positive. ...Read more
