If I have myopia and i don't wear glasses will my eyes get weaker ? And what do you think about contact lenses does it hart eyes in anyway
No: Wearing or not wearing glasses at age 22 will neither accelerate myopia nor decrease its progression. It will go along its natural history course without being influenced by glasses use/nonuse. Contact lenses are an excellent choice if you feel ou want better vision without the appearance of lasses. With proper care, contact lenses are generally safe. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I ve near sighted (myopic) vision and i wear glasses for that but should I wear these glasses while reading?
Is wearing weaker prescription glasses for when I am on the computer a bad thing to do? I'm nearsighted but I still need glasses to see the computer
Not bad: You don't need your full correction to see the computer. As long as you are comfortable in them and you are seeing the computer screen well, then you should be fine. Don't use someone else's glasses ad they might have astigmatism or prism correction that you don't need. Take care. ...Read more
No: You need reading glasses because the lens system inside your eye has lost its ability to accomodate at near. Wearing reading glasses brings near targets into focus on your retina. Just like putting a bigger, stronger lens on a camera doesn't make the camera weaker, using a better lens over your eye doesn't make it weaker. You'll just have a clearer picture. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

My peripheral vision is better when I wear glasses instead of monovision contacts. Why would that be?
Monocular vision : The convenience of being fitted in monofocal contacts is to lessen need for glasses, at the compromise of reduced stereopsis (binocular vision). However I find improvement in peripheral vision when wearing contacts for optimum distance (binocular) vision, versus glasses. Each contact lens individual determines whether the reduction of stereopsis is satisfactory for their daily functions. ...Read more
Hi, wearing incorrect prescription glasses, will not harm eyes regardless if someone is nearsighted and continue wearing for next 1 year, correct?
I am 4.5 nearsighted both eyes, would it hurt my vision if I don't wear glasses during regular activities?
No: If glasses will help you see, wearing them can in fact clarify the vision. But your eyes will do their best whether or not you wear any correction (or the wrong correction for that matter). It will not change your underlying vision to wear or not wear them. It is a personal and not a medical decision. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Can you wear contacts lenses after cataract surgery? I have always worn contact lenses instead of glasses. After my cataract surgery, will i be able to wear contact lenses? If so, how long do I need to wait after my surgery to begin wearing them again?
Easy answer-yes: I would hope that your cataract surgery corrected your distance vision, or both distance and near vision with the intraocular implant placed in your eye durung surgery.. There would be no need for contacts post operatively. If you needed an additional correction after cataract surgery, contact lenses could be used about 6 to 8 weeks post op. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
