Hydration: Proper hydration is critical, providing no other medical issues. Urine color may be used with the goal as being clear to light yellow. That will definitely help with the constipation also. I am struggling with my weight at the moment but every time I go on a diet, I suffer from constipation. What can I do?
Quite a bit: Fiber can help your intestines hold on to enough fluid to keep your stool soft. Fiber also helps people feel full, and, since it isn't absorbed, adds no calories. Many fresh fruits & veggies, and whole grains are high in fiber. Drinking plenty of water will also help - aim for 2 liters per day while you're dieting. Finally exercise helps stimulate the bowels to keep things moving on the inside. ...Read more
I have a 2year old son who now and then suffers from constipation he was hospitalised but nothing wrong it occurs now and then now, how can manage it?
Stool retention: 2yo kids are busy explorers who like to do what they want & avoid doing what they don't. By 2 they have learned they can hold a poop. If they do, the delay allows the stool to bulk up & dry & cause pain with passage. I would find a developmental pediatrician or pedi-GI specialist to help you with a program to end this pattern. It can take up to a year but is easier to fix at 2 than at 12. ...Read more

Hi. My 2 years daughter suffers from constipation, someties she‘s bleeding and it‘s hurts her. What should I do for her. Thanx.
Make stools softer: Try to work on her diet if that is the issue. If she drinks a lot of milk try to taper to 16 oz. If she only eats a lot of carbohydrates try to have her eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. Generally pears, plum, peaches, dark greens help make stools softer. Make sure she drinks a lot of fluids. ...Read more

Fetus/uterus growth: Heartburn and indigestion are caused by the increasing abdominal pressure, due to the enlarging uterus. Hemorrhoids are caused by increased pelvic venous pressure - same cause. What is the proper dosage of magnesium I should take for constipation? Female, 21 years old, about 140 pounds.
Depends on type:
There are many types of Magnesium. Magnesiums that are poorly absorbed, like Mag oxide, help by acting as a laxative. But magnesium deficiency can also cause constipation and well-absorbed forms like mag taurate and glycinate help. I advise trying 400 mg/day of well-absorbed forms, and you can increase dose if that does not help. High doses are safe. See http://tinyurl. Com/m7oovm4

My 9 month old suffers from constipation and is on Lactrulose but it's not working? Would milk instead of formula help?
Constipation: Actually when you switch from formula to milk, I have found in general, that babies get more constipated. I like to use dark Karo syrup in the bottles and titrate to response. It is less expensive. If you do this, you need to stop the lactulose. Alternatively, call your doc and ask what to increase to on the lactulose. Obviously, add more fiber to the diet. ...Read more
