Probably: Mri is excellent for evaluating the tendons of the body. Even mild abnormalities are usually visible. Normally, the tendons look black and have smooth contours. After sitting for a while or after a long sleep, this gets tighter, so it hurts more when you first get up. If you state specifically where they hurt. The swelling part is a bit of a concern as swelling in the morning is not as common as swelling say in the evening. If you were laying down for most of the night then usually swelling is limited in the morning.
