Tracheomalacia: Tracheomalacia (from trachea and Greek ???????, softening) is a condition characterized by flaccidity of the tracheal support cartilage which leads to tracheal collapse especially when increased airflow is demanded. Block: For most of us, it's 99.99% mental. Unfortunately, i'm one of those people and it's irritating since I have to take a total of 7 pill daily at 3 different times of the day. To get me through, i sometimes hide the pills in gelatin dessert or applesauce. For folks who've had radiation of surgery in thr neck, however, it can me more serious and they should check in with their primary care doctor.
Gag reflex: Lots of people have a difficult time swallowing pills, so you are not alone. When you eat food, you just swallow, not thinking about it. The act of swallowing a pill, or a non-food entity, brings out your gag reflex. With practice, you should be able to get it down. Practice with m&ms - it worked for my kids!
Swallowing pills: If your difficulty only involves swallowing pills and you cannot mentally overcome the challenge, consider chewable or liquid forms of the same medications. If you have other swallowing issues, see your physician for an evaluation. Some individuals place the pills in foods such as peanut butter, applesauce, etc. In order to facilitate swallowing them.
Which is more effective: metformin tablets or riomet oral solution? I'm having difficulty swallowing the pills. Does riomet work as well as the pills?
Yes...same: They are the same med...Same as children liquid Motrin and adult tablet..Riomet is made for those having trouble with swallowing pills like you. They work/do same job. Often, liquid med may work faster or even better. In this case, they have similar effecacy/effectiveness. If you can't swallow the pills, then the pills don't work for you at all. Consult your doc.. Good luck.

Need more info: This is a serious drug that interferes with coagulation. I feel it is very important that she talk over this problem with the physician who prescribed it. I also don't think it is wise to chew the tablet.
