Nerve damage: Sounds like you possibly irritated or damaged one or some of the nerves of the foot. It may take a little time for the sensation to return. If the problem continues, i would recommend being evaluated by either a podiatrist or neurologist. They could order a study to examine the nerves in the foot. ...Read more

I have numbness in my toes after shooting a wedding for 12 hours in uncomfortable shoes. They are sore, feel numb when barefoot even 2 days later. ?

Neuroma: Would be the leading diagnosis. This is the equivlent of a pinched nerve between the toes most commonly between the 3rd and 4th toes. You can ice the bottom of the forefoot, take antiinflammatories and make sure to wer shoes that aren;t tight. I think injection therapy by a podiatrist is very helpful at eliminating this pain. ...Read more

Numb toes: I wouldn't call that normal. You may be wearing shoes that are too tight causing the nerves in your toes to be compressed. The numbness goes away after being out of the shoes over night. I would recommend possibly finding a different type of shoe with a wider toe box. If this doesn't help, i would suggest evaluation by a podiatrist. ...Read more

Nerve irritation: Numbness or tingling, similar to "pins and needles" is most commonly caused by nerve irritation of some sort. Diabletes for example can cause nerve damage and peripheral neuropathy.
