Why are my hips sore after sleeping all night?

Why are my hips sore after sleeping all night?

Hip soreness: Some considerations include sleeping position (lateral vs supine or prone), quality of the mattress you use, and medical disorders such as arthritis and deconditioning. If you are not generally active, try gentle stretching exercises before bed and when you wake up.

Be seen: Multiple potential causes, I would not hesitate to be seen for it. One of the more common causes is an inflammation of the iliotibial band, which runs from the lateral hip down to the knee; this is known as ITB syndrome. Those patients can't lay on that side and it can be quite painful. A simple exam would likely go a long way in making the diagnosis.

Hip or back pain: Back problems can give you hip pain and hip problems can give you back pain. Probably not enough information here to help you know what the cause is. May represent greater trochanteric bursitis. I would use an anti-inflammatory like aleve (naproxen) 2 pills with food 2 times a day for 5 days. Ice the area for 20 minutes up to 3 time a day. Think that should help.

Bursitis: Bursitis is a common cause of hip pain and classically is painful to touch and worse with lying on it. Your physician may recommend oral therapy or injections if physical exam reveals bursitis.

Not surprising: You may be experiencing some inflammatory arthritis. Unlike osteoarthritis, that sometimes gets worse with use, inflammatory arthritis may get better with use. You become more aware of it at night because you have nothing else to think about. Talk to your doctor about your symptoms. He/she may want to run some other tests.

I may have sacrioliac ligament sprain. I waken from sleep with a strong dull ache in my left hip to knee. Sitting is painful. Also sciatica symptoms.

I may have sacrioliac ligament sprain. I waken from sleep with a strong dull ache in my left hip to knee. Sitting is painful. Also sciatica symptoms.

These: Go hand in hand. The Sciatica has resulted in weaker muscles in the buttock and leg resulting in stress at the sacroiliac joint ligaments. You need treatments that are tailored to treat both the sciatica and work on tightening the ligaments around the SI joint.

What is mild prominence of the left femoral head neck junction of the hip in xray? This side usually sore but especially when sleeping on this side.

What is mild prominence of the left femoral head neck junction of the hip in xray? This side usually sore but especially when sleeping on this side.

Possible impingement: That refers to a possible impingement condition of the hip joint. If you have soreness at the side of your hip when sleeping on that side, then the diagnosis is likely to be a greater trochanteric bursitis, which can usually be treated with steroid injections and/or NSAIDs (i.e. ibuprofen, Aleve).

Left flank ache just above hips that ease with movement. Starts after not sleeping well due to a fever, which goes n a slight discomfort when urinating.

See below: Your symptoms are suggestive of a possible urinary tract infection (UTI) that may be involving the kidney (pyelonephritis). If such is the case, this could lead to more serious symptoms and possible sepsis requiring hospitalization. Suggest you see an MD as soon as possible for a more thorough history, physical exam, blood tests, urinalysis and culture, possible imaging studies, and? Antibiotics.

57 yrr old f. For months now, if I fall asleep on my side, I wake up because BOTH hips are aching, And lately hips and KNEES also. What's going on?

Getting old SUCKS: Without a complete exam on you, I would say age and hormone changes are having an effect on your body. Get plenty of sleep, drink plenty of water and STRETCH!!! How old is your bed? How active are you? What do the soles of your shoes look like?

Multiple: If it is only your elbows, than it would make sense that it is an overuse injury involving both upper extremities. Something like using a jackhammer, saw, pushups, or even leaning on your elbows while playing video games! Can also be early presentation of carpal tunnel syndrome.

I wear a bra every night when I sleep. Can this cause my boobs to be sore to the touch?

I wear a bra every night when I sleep. Can this cause my boobs to be sore to the touch?

Probably not: There are pros and cons about wearing a bra at night. Over time, it might keep your breasts more perky / less droopy. But wearing a bra all the time can also interfere with the body's lymphatic circulation / drainage, such that environmental (cancer-producing) toxins can end up accumulating in the breast's fat cells. But making them sore to the touch? Probably not. Perhaps estrogen dominance?

My lower body aches during night time and m not fetching a gud sleep.....I also have beck ache...Can u help me out?

My lower body aches during night time and m not fetching a gud sleep.....I also have beck ache...Can u help me out?

Connect the dots: You have low back pain, hence your lower body hurts, hence your sleep is disturbed. Therefor find out why you have low back pain--poor posture, deconditioning, stress, pinched nerves, inflammatory disease etc.

I have extremely bad back spasms at night only that stop me from sleeping and then ache all day. What could this be?

Many things: Back spasms may be the result of degeneration of the spine, tumors, infection, herniated discs, or other non-spinal problems (such as issues with the kidney, stomach, etc.). If the symptoms continue, seek medical care. Pain at night that wakes you up is concerning and should be evaluated by a physician.
